THE

CONCEPT

NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL NEEDS A VOICE.... TheNonLeague magazine is about the world that we all love, the world of non-league football. With attendances on the up at the majority of non-league grounds, with more and more football fans turning to their local club for their football fix, the hunger for more information about grass roots football increases and we at TheNonLeague will be looking to satisfy that need. During a meeting we identified that although there are websites and newspapers supplying match reports and statistics for the non-league game there was a gap in the market for a magazine with truly exclusive material from around UK based clubs.

• Exclusive Player Interviews • Celebrity Fan Interviews • Interesting Club Stories

“TO PRODUCE AN EXCLUSIVE, ORIGINAL MAGAZINE WITH ARTICLES THAT CAN’T BE FOUND ANYWHERE ELSE”

Along with our army of non-league contributors we set about making this happen......

THE

TEAM

OUR EXPERIENCE..... We are a company that has been in the advertising industry for over 20 years. We pride ourselves on working to a very high standard. Our team would combine their quality skill sets with their passion and enthusiasm for football to produce fantastic issues throughout the year.

“WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT WE DO 6 | THENONLEAGUE.COM

TheNonLeague will be mainly produced by two key in-house people, they will be aided by numerous other staff at our busy publishing company. In addition to our in-house team we have made connections with a wealth of expertise in the way of student/experienced writers, photographers and illustrators, all happy to contribute to our already popular magazine.

TWO KEY IN-HOUSE ROLES...

“OUR EXISTING ISSUES ALREADY PROVE WE HAVE THE RESOURCES TO DUCE CONSISTENTLY PRO ES” QUALITY MAGAZIN

Senior Editor/Writer: Phil Brennan Phil Brennan joined us as our in-house editor. He is a published author who spent several years as the Press Officer with Stockport County during which time he was also the editor of the clubs highly successful match day magazine, winning 8 national awards in the “programme of the year” category. Having already written and published “A Pictorial History of Stockport County” and co-writing the script for the video history of the club, Phil wrote and published his second book “The Man from Uruguay” a biography of Danny Bergara who was the first foreign national to coach an England football team. With County dropping out of the Football League Phil left Edgeley Park and spent some time as a consultant at Oldham Athletic working with the media and commercial departments to update the club website, whilst also

spending time to promote his second book and begin freelance work writing for The Non-League Newspaper. With his writing background and years working within the football community Phil is a perfect fit to head up the team that is working on TheNonLeague magazine. He has a proven track record in meeting deadlines and working on multiple projects.

Art Director: Nick Williams Nick Williams personally oversees everything to do with the magazine. He has over 20 years experience in dealing with printers & advertising agencies and will be responsible for the visual style and images in the magazine. Before setting up his own business he has worked for many agencies as a designer and art director.

THE

MARKET

THE FIFTH TIER AND BELOW IS BOOMING..... Non-league football a growing market. With over 1000 non-league clubs throughout the top 6 tiers this gives an average WEEKLY footfall of over 150k through turnstiles. To add to this there are a growing amount of fans becoming disappointed by the League football on offer. “Charging in the region of £50 for a youngster to go to some of these Premiership matches is way too excessive. Those sort of prices are way too much for the ordinary working man or woman to take their families to the game. There is growing evidence that some people are turning their backs on the Premiership and the Football League and instead watching grass roots football.” “The profile of the non-league game has also increased since the introduction of the internet. There are now many more ways of discovering non-league than just through going to the game. Many clubs nowadays have “media managers” responsible for putting news into the public domain. Football has to adapt to the way that society is changing and

“THE FUTURE OF NON-LEAGUE ING FOOTBALL IS LOOK AN BRIGHTER NOW TH EVER BEFORE”

TheNonLeague magazine has the potential to aid this.”

THE

VISION

TO PROVIDE A COMMERCIAL AND INFORMATIONAL PLATFORM TO ENABLE CLUBS TO HELP THEMSELVES AND SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN GRASS ROOTS FOOTBALL..... We have proven that our magazine is very popular and that fans, clubs and players want to see it in the market place. We are growing at a rapid pace with each issue but with the help of “partners” we want to grow quicker so that awareness of our product sweeps the UK. Our vision is to make the printed copy of the magazine available “free of charge” as promotions to every non-league club or community group. This will enable us to achieve our goal of helping clubs make valuable extra funds whilst also spreading the word of non-league/grass roots football.

THE

PROPOSAL

GRASS ROOTS FOOTBALL, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Over the first 23 issues we have proved that our magazine is needed and wanted throughout non-league football. To take our vision to the next step we are looking for partners that can help us finance sending as many magazines out to non-league clubs to sell to their fans as possible. The magazines will be sold for £4.00 per issue. The more we can send out the more money will be generated into the community funds. With over 68 clubs alone in National League, National League North and South there is the potential to generate alot of funds through our magazine.

For example:

1) If we could fund sending 100 magazines to 68 Member Clubs / Community Projects We would enable the clubs to self-generate £27,200 per issue. (£217,600.00 per annum)
