Fortis Clinique Darné The hallmark of a good hospital lies in its ability to provide personalised and dedicated care to all its patients. The philosophy of Fortis Clinique Darné is to provide the best medical care, by combining ‘Clinical Excellence’ with ‘Compassionate Patient Care’
Fortis Clinique Darné is one of the oldest, yet most modern hospitals in Mauritius. Founded in April 1953 by Dr. Francois Darné, “Clinique Darné” was rechristened Fortis Clinique Darné in January 2009; when Fortis Healthcare Limited, amongst India’s largest healthcare providers joined hands with a diversified Mauritian Industrial Group CIEL (through its subsidiary Novelife Limited) to jointly acquire a controlling stake in this, the largest private hospital on the Island. The vision of Fortis Healthcare is to be a ‘globally respected healthcare organisation known for clinical excellence and distinctive patient care’. This vision has driven the organisation to expand its operations across India, Afghanistan, UAE, and now the African continent. It is now a network of 48 hospitals with a capacity of over 7500 beds. Fortis has recently acquired the healthcare businesses of Hong Kong-listed Quality Healthcare Asia Limited (QHA). QHA comprises a network of over 60 wholly-owned medical centres, over 500 affiliated clinics, over 40 dental and physiotherapy centres, and a private nursing agency with a database of over 3,000 nurses.
