WATT’S UP SUWANNEE VALLEY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE EMPLOYEE AND RETIREE NEWSLETTER | SUMMER 2021

from the CEO Thank you for your efforts

Thank you all for completing another quarter with no lost-time injuries! This accomplishment is a testament to your commitment to working safely every day. It’s early in storm season, and already our emergency restoration plan and practices have been put to the test by Tropical Storm Elsa. We responded with skill, urgency and tenacity to restore, in only about 24 hours, hundreds of outages affecting nearly 13,000 of our consumer-members. Believe me, your hard work did not go unnoticed. Our trustees were once again impressed by your efforts, and we received 35 emails and 463 social media messages from our consumer-members expressing their appreciation. Your work during and after the storm was also another example of your commitment to safety. Once again you showed why we have suffered no losttime injuries since December of 2019. A few more factoids about Elsa and our response to it are included in the Reliability section of this issue. You can also read about multiple opportunities See CEO, Page 6
