Dare to Care Dash

Because of your incredible generosity, this year’s Share What You Can food drive was a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together. We collected 6,996 pounds of food and raised $46,620 to help stock the shelves of our food pantry and feed our neighbors.

“Thanks to drives like Share What You Can, we haven’t had to cut back services or increase limits to what our neighbors receive at a time when many other pantries are struggling to keep up,” said Jeremy Phillippi, Pantry Manager. “This drive helps ensure families walk away with a true week’s worth of groceries and sometimes even name-brand favorites they couldn’t otherwise afford.”

One mom teared up in the pantry when she spotted a box of Lucky Charms on the shelf. “This is my son’s favorite cereal,” she said. “We haven’t been able to buy it in a long time.” The box came straight from your donations.

A huge shoutout to our media partners WGRR and FOX19 for helping to spread the word and rally support across the Tri-State!

And let’s not forget the friendly competition among our own staff who enthusiastically rose to the challenge (and rose to new levels of creativity) by stacking food donations in Brad’s office!

Thanks again for sharing what you could, because every can, every dollar, and every cereal box made a difference.
