Spring reminds us that even in the most difficult seasons, renewal is always possible. At St. Vincent de Paul, we see that promise fulfilled every day—through generosity, through service, and through the quiet, persistent work of transforming what’s old or overlooked into something meaningful and new.

Lately, what’s been weighing on my heart is the sheer volume of need we’re seeing in our community. The rising cost of food, rent, utilities, and basic goods is pushing more families into crisis, many for the first time. And it’s not just here at St. Vincent de Paul. Across our city, partner organizations and social service systems are feeling the pressure of increased demand. The burden is heavy.

And yet, so many continue to step forward with compassion and courage. Our staff, our volunteers, our Vincentians, and our generous supporters—you continue to say yes. You show up. You give. You serve. You pray. You remind us that while the need is great, our community’s capacity for hope is even greater.

This spring, we’re leaning into that spirit of transformation. Whether its unused insulin donated to our pharmacy, a bag of clothes dropped off at one of our thrift stores, or a surplus of bread shared from a local bakery, each gift becomes something new in the hands of our neighbors: stability, dignity, relief. These small acts of generosity add up to something powerful, a renewed sense of possibility.

“Behold, I make all things new.” —Revelation 21:5

In this issue of St. Vincent's Way, you’ll see that theme of renewal come to life in stories of expansion, restoration, and hope. You’ll meet individuals who are helping us make all things new—not just for things, but for people. And I hope you’ll be reminded, as I am, that we are never alone in this mission.

Now more than ever, we need one another. We need prayer. We need solidarity. And we need the continued grace of transformation—one life, one gift, one act of love at a time.
