UPPER SCHOOL
TRA’s academic societies inducted new members to Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, and National Honor Society Mrs Kuykendall organized the AMC Math Competition for four freshmen, six sophomores, five juniors, and five seniors who competed for our school Additionally, our middle school math teachers organized the same competition for middle school students to participate Our upper school students seem to be so excited about math these days, they formed a brand new math club in the middle school and have planned all kinds of fun activities to share with elementary students!
We have five students from the junior class, Campbell Howe, Alice Sigler, Shasta Slayman, Emily Ross, and Hyatt Williams, representing TRA in the T.O.T.A.L. Youth Leadership program. Two juniors, Cade Harkness and Jaycie Carroll, were nominated to attend the Vaughn WestStar Leadership Summit at UT Martin, and two sophomores, Owen Peterson and McKenna Brigman, were selected to attend the HOBY state leadership conference at Tennessee Tech in Crossville The upper school had three students apply to EIGHT different Governor’s Schools this year! We hope to begin hearing acceptance notifications very soon!
The college fair was another exceptional hit on campus, with attendants from more than 30 colleges and universities being represented Senior students took the ACT during October, and nearly 30% of the current senior class are members of TRA’s ACT 30+ Club!

It has been an exciting and eventful semester, with so many things happening in and around the school Our teachers have been working hard to provide students with the best academic experience they possibly can I have always shared with others what a special school TRA is, and one of the things that makes it so special is you. The people and the community that support this school are what sets it apart from other schools. You are also the best resource for marketing to those outside of our school and why it’s such a special place. I’m sure that you may have seen recent coverage of the revival at Asbury in Kentucky I was so encouraged by the movement of the Holy Spirit in that community and how it impacted people not just around the country, but possibly around the world We should not be surprised by the state of the world around us these days Scripture tells us plainly that we wrestle not against flesh and bone, but against principalities The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy I am so grateful for a community of Christians, and faithful prayer warriors within the TRA family It is my prayer that our students may feel the stirring of the Holy Spirit like at Asbury, and that His blessings will be poured out over our students and this campus
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this school, its students and their families each and every day.
