As a person who is such a doer—an entrepreneur and a single mom—I’ve always struggled with allowing other people to take care of me. But earlier this year, during a two-week recovery from a medical procedure, I had the unusual experience of being forced to stay in one place, slow down and trust that both my family and our team at the shop had everything under control.
Having endless hours of quiet time for observation and reflection was, to say the least, a radical shift. It allowed me to take stock of all the incredible things my body does for me—without even realizing it—as well as how my constant doing leaves little space for other people to show their love. Simply having someone else cook for me, light a candle or bring me a blanket felt like such unprecedented luxury, and it gave me a new sense of appreciation for the people who consistently check in and always show up.
Months later, I find myself thinking about the holidays as a season that invites us to honor and celebrate our loved ones. Whether I’m picking out a gift for a specific friend or imagining how guests will respond to the products in our shop, I’m not simply striving for practicality or quality. My bar is much higher: a feeling of they would absolutely LOVE this.
In that spirit, we’ve pulled together our annual Süti & Co. Gift Guide—this time as a flippable digital magazine!—with the theme “to be loved”. No matter your budget, it’s full of soulful, small-batch products crafted by inspiring makers. So whether you’re shopping for your mom, your best friend or even your boss, you’re sure to find a meaningful gesture that makes them feel seen and appreciated.

During a recent visit to Seattle, I had the pleasure of eating at a friend’s restaurant—The Whale Wins—which also features a curated culinary gift shop. There, I came across the most fantastically packaged chocolate, with flavors like Bourbon with Sea Salt or Bee Pollen set inside a beautifully designed envelope. My personal favorite is the velvety smooth Madagascar Milk Chocolate.
There are printed cards, and then there are handmade cards. Nanci, a Boulderbased maker, painstakingly handprints her designs on vintage letterpress patterns and letters. Her designs preserve the beauty of the original pieces, but add something sweet, endearing or whimsical to each card. I treasure Nanci as a friend and an artist, and her cards bring joy to my heart every time I hold one.

Maybe it’s the European in me, but drinking coffee doesn’t feel right unless I drink it from a cup with a saucer. The lines on this particular set are elegant and timeless, but the funky grooved texture reminds me of woodgrain—one of my favorite patterns. It’s also sturdy enough to hold hot drinks without burning your hand, making it my go-to cup for coffee (and a cardamom bun!) on leisurely mornings.
“A pouch a day keeps disorganization away.” I am a grown woman who wears a backpack—but deep inside it, my hectic life is organized into Erin’s clamshell, flat zipper and wristlet pouches. A Colorado native (who now resides in Maine), we’re proud to be one of the few stores in Erin’s home state that carry her work—and I love her down-to-earth personality, love of Scandinavian aesthetics and dedication to making something that can be passed on.

I’m not kidding when I say that, ever since I was a small child, polka dots have had a special place in my heart. Danish artist Eeli crafts these thick, wheelthrown mugs—just irregular enough to guarantee they’re handmade—in a studio that’s just a stone’s throw from where I grew up. They will never ever go out of style, and I promise you they will be loved for many generations to come.
One of my Pinterest boards is named “oohhh shiny!” and these handwoven metallic beauties are among the eyecatching items you’ll find there. Made in Italy by the same family behind Uashmama, these leather-like gems (remarkably made of sustainable, washable paper!) are everything you need to add a little sparkle to your outfit—or everyday outings. Will my sister get one of these for Christmas? You bet!
These one-of-a-kind gifts are conversation starters in their own right. From stoneware centerpieces, to silky-smooth cashmere and hand-blown glass lighting, they’re a surefire way to make a statement.
A well-made throw adds effortless elegance to any space. A mustard knit graces my gray sofa. A red cashmere adorns the Danish bench in my entry room. But wool throws may be my absolute favorite, due to the way the material wears and feels over time. It takes incredible skill to weave these blankets, and these Canada-made reversible throws are steeped in traditional Eastern European weaving techniques.
I met Ramsey two years ago when I invited myself over to his woodshop. From there, our friendship grew over an appreciation of well-made, handcrafted goods, including his custom wood boards. What I particularly love is his thoughtfulness and creativity—and that he can take any of my crazy ideas and make them into a reality. Look closely at any colorful details, and you’ll discover that he incorporates old skateboards into his designs!
