Susanna/BAHBA Description

During this semester‘s project, we delved into the realm of low-tech concepts, analyzing and studying their application for the realization of an end product.

BAHBA is a multifunctional play space for kids.

WHAT

BAHBA evolves alongside a child‘s growth and development. What sets this game apart is its simplicity, featuring a circular mat that fosters a sense of togetherness during playtime. When the game concludes, the mat effortlessly transforms into a bag with a cord closure.

WHY

Recognizing that play is the most effective path to lear, BAHBA emerges as a space where education is seamlessly intertwined with playfulness.

HOW

Crafted from various fabrics, including recycled materials, BAHBA stimulates children‘s sensory exploration and engagement. The play space has different sections, constructed with diverse materials. This intentional design allows children the freedom to explore and determine how best to utilize each section, encouraging their autonomy and understanding.

Susanna/BAHBA Design Process

The development of BAHBA unfolded through a series of steps:

STEP 1 - Sketching

Initially, sketches were crafted to establish the overall shape and design.

STEP 2 - Materials and dimentions

Overall dimensions and materials were chosen.

STEP 3 - Pattern Creation

Once the desired shape was determined, patterns were traced onto paper and carefully cut out.

STEP 4 - Fabric Cutting

The patterns were then affixed to the fabric, and the designated shapes were precisely cut out.

STEP 5 Ironing

The fabric pieces were ironed to ensure uniformity in the seams and overall appearance.

STEP 6 Sewing

The individual fabric pieces were skillfully sewn together, and a cord was added to complete the assembly.
