The unit was formed with an academic focus to enhance support for early phase (Phase 0/1/2) clinical trials and investigator-initiated trials. ECRU provides a one-stop-shop for the conduct of early phase clinical trials with a core team of clinical research coordinators (CRC) and assistant research coordinators. It works in close collaboration with other clinicians and research laboratories to consolidate capabilities and ensure seamless trial conduct with an emphasis on accelerating throughput of correlatives studies by matching investigator with collaborators. The mission of ECRU is to bring new and novel agents to the patient’s bedside and develop new therapeutic options for cancer patients through investigator-initiated scientifically driven research.
