Fethiye
The main town in this region is Fethiye, an ancient harbour town, which has retained its traditional character and exists harmoniously alongside the changes that its rising popularity among holiday makers have brought about.
The palm-lined promenade along the harbour front is perfect for an evening stroll before you settle down to a delicious seafood meal in one of the many inviting restaurants. The cobbled streets are full of shops where you can find superb bargains on jewellery items, leather goods and lots more. It is well situated for a boat taxi ride to the popular and nearby Calis Beach and, a little further along, the famous beach at Olu Deniz is within easy reach by dolmus (a shared taxi).
