Ⅱ. 선화의 상징 School Symbol 1. 선화(仙和) 교명의 의미 The meaning of “Sunhwa” ‘천사들(仙)의 조화(和)’라는 의미로, 예술을 연마하는 학생들이 천상의 천사와 같 이 조화롭고 아름다운 예술의 세계를 이루는 터전이라는 의미이다.

The name “Sunhwa” is made from words meaning “Angel” and “Harmony,” and describes a place where artistic students can refine their skills to realize a world of harmony and beauty.
2. 로고 상징 의미 Sunhwa’s Emblem 무궁화: ‘예술 한국’이라는 국위 선양 정신을 나라꽃 무궁화로 이미지화하였다. The Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus/National flower of Korea): Represents our pride in Korea’s rich cultural heritage. 꽃술 세 가닥: 건학 정신인 애천, 애인, 애국을 의미함과 동시에 본교의 교육 분야 인 미술, 무용, 음악 예술의 조화를 상징한다.

Introduction of the Departments
1. 교육 목표 Educational Objectives 창작 활동과 미적 경험을 통하여 사물을 보는 능력을 기름으로써 미술의 생활화에 힘쓰며, 궁극적으로 작가로서 갖춰야 할 세계관과 예술관을 확장시킨다.
미술부 Fine Arts Department
Integrating art into everyday life by cultivating an insightful and discerning view of objects through creative activities and artistic experiences, the program aims to expand the artistic vision and worldview that artists ultimately should acquire.
2. 전공실기 교육 과정 Courses in the Fine Arts Major Curriculum 소묘, 채화, 디자인1·2, 드로잉, 입체, 동양화, 디지털아트, 창의적 표현, 판화 Sketching, Painting, Design 1 & 2, Drawing, Sculpture, Eastern Art, Digital Art, Creative Expression, Printmaking
3. 미술부 활동 Fine Arts Activities 신입생 과제전 Freshman Project 학기 초에 신입생들의 과제물을 교내 갤러리에서 전시 하여 재능을 선보이고 앞으로의 실기 향상의 계기를 마 련한다. 1st year students are given the opportunity to display their initial works at the school gallery providing a platform from which to hone and develop their artistic skills.
선화 미전 Sunhwa Art Exhibit 1,2학년 학생들이 1학기 실기수업 결과를 바탕으로 여름방학 중 담당 선생님과 작품 제작을 협의하고 심사 를 거쳐 9월 에 완성작을 전시한다. Based on the results of their 1st semester work, 1st and 2nd year students consult with an assigned faculty member to create a special summer vacation project for display in the annual Sunhwa Art Exhibit in September.
향상 미전 Advancement Exhibit 실기 수업중 이루어진 결과물을 모아서 10월에 전시한다. All works created during lessons over the year will be collected and exhibited in October.
졸업 미전 Graduation Exhibit 3학년 학생들이 고등학교 입학시험 이후 실기수업 시 간 동안 3개년에 걸친 전 과정을 마무리하는 작품을 제 작하여 12월에 전시한다. After completing their high school entry exams, all 3rd year students will create and exhibit a graduation work that represents their progress throughout their three years of education at Sunhwa.
유럽 문화 예술 탐방 Arts and Cultural Trips to Europe 1, 2학년 중 희망하는 학생들을 대상으로 여름방학 중 유럽(4~5개국)의 예술 도시 및 미술관, 음악회 등의 문화 예술 탐방을 한다. 예술 전공 학생들의 예술 이해와 감성의 폭을 넓히는 예술 융합 체험 학습 프로그램 1st and 2nd year students may elect to participate in a cultural field trip to Europe. The trip will visit 4~5 different cities in Europe of artistic significance and students will have the opportunity to expand their artistic scope and expression by attending music concerts and visiting museums of art.
무용부 Dance Department
1. 교육 목표 Educational Objectives 발레 Ballet Vaganova 교수법을 통한 기본기 습득 및 캐릭터 수업을 통해 표현력을 향상시키고, 클래식 발레와 창작 발레의 다양한 무대 공연 경험을 쌓아 전문 무용수로 육성한다. Students master fundamental ballet technique based on the Vaganova classical ballet curriculum and develop their expressive abilities through character dance training. Performances of classical and modern ballet repertory helps students refine their skills towards becoming professional dancers. 한국무용 Korean Dance 전통 무용과 창작 무용의 특성에 따른 춤사위와 테크닉을 습득하고, 다양한 작품 수 업과 무대 공연을 통해 전문 무용수로 육성한다. Students master both traditional and creative Korean dance techniques and are nurtured to become professional dancers through studying a diverse range of works and stage experience. 리틀엔젤스 예술단 Little Angels Company Members 한국 전통 무용과 민속 무용의 특성에 따른 춤사위를 습득하고, 무대 무용의 다양성 을 표현할 수 있는 개인기를 향상시켜, 수준 높은 전문 예술단원으로 육성한다. Through extensive study and performance of Korean traditional and folk dances, students develop their individual ability as performing artists who can articulate and express diverse dances developing into highly professional company members.
✽리틀엔젤스 예술단은 1962년에 창설된 민간 예술단체로서 1974년 선화예술학교 설립의 근간이 되었다. 단원은 초등학교 1학년~중학교 3학년으로 구성 되어 있으며, 세계에 한국 문화의 아름다움을 알리기 위하여 활발한 해외 공연 활동을 하고 있다. 본교는 리틀엔젤스 예술단원으로 입학한 학생들의 공연 활 동을 적극 지원하고 있다. ✽The Little Angels was formed as a privately funded arts troupe in 1962 and became the basis for founding the Sunhwa Arts School. Its members are comprised of primary and middle school students who actively promote the beauty of Korean culture through performances in Korea and abroad. The Sun Hwa Arts School actively supports those students that are admitted as members of the Little Angels.

1. 교육 목표 Educational Objectives 다양한 음악 기본 교육을 통하여 학생의 음악성을 계발하고 창의적인 표현 능력 과 감상 능력 등의 전반적인 음악적 소양을 기른다. 전공 실기 전문 분야 교수진 의 개인 레슨과 충분한 연습으로써 학생을 전문 연주자로서의 자질을 갖춘 음악 인으로 육성한다. Through diverse methods of fundamental music education, students will hone their musical talent and cultivate broad musical skills such as creative expression and music appreciation. Through personal training from our professional faculty, and sufficient practice, students will develop into professional musicians of excellent expertise.

Integrated Arts Curriculum
학생들의 예술 기초 소양을 높이기 위한 교육 프로그램 Programs dedicated to improving students' artistic knowledge 취지 Purpose 학생들이 자신의 전공 이외에 다른 예술 분야를 두루 경험하여 이해함으로써 자신 의 예술 전공 분야에 깊이와 폭을 확장하고 발전을 도모하며, 미래 예술의 새로운 패러다임을 창조할 수 있는 잠재 능력 계발의 기회를 갖는다. By understanding and experiencing different fields of art beyond their specific majors, students will be able to expand their scope and deepen their understanding of their chosen fields. 운영 Integrated Arts Curriculum Program 2년(1,2학년) 동안 주당 2시간, 학기별 1개 반씩 총 4회의 융합수업 을 받는다. 미술 전공자는 반드시 음악, 무용 영역의 수업을 연간 1회 이상씩 수강하며, 무용 전공자는 미술과 음악 영역을, 음악 전공자는 미술과 무용 영역을 연간 1회 이상씩 수업 받는다. 한 학기 융합수업 후 학생들에게 매 학기말에 수업 내용으로 공연 발표와 작품 전시회 의 기회를 부여하여 성취감과 예술 활동의 즐거움을 경험하게 한다. 1st and 2nd year students dedicate 2 hours of every week to Integrated Arts classes, taking a different course each semester (four courses in total). Among the four courses, at least two of them must be in an area unrelated to the student’s major area of study. To experience the joy of artistic achievement, students will be given the opportunity to display what they have learned in the courses outside their major area.
