LAWRENCE PLACES FOR THE

FOODIE Debarre Johnson has no trouble calling herself a foodie. In fact, the Lawrence mother takes great pride in exploring all things tasty with her son Jah’ir (nicknamed Kid Flash by his peers), whom she calls her “minifoodie.” Debarre likes to explore the Lawrence food scene and secretly wishes she had a job like Guy Fieri’s on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” If there’s a new restaurant in town opening, you can find Debarre and Jah’ir there on what they call their “restaurant adventures,” partaking in all the excitement and trying new flavors.

CONEY ISLAND HOTDOGS CORNER OF 10TH AND MASSACHUSETTS ST.

Catch owner Andy Dallager outside during warm months from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. slinging all-beef designer dogs— yes I said designer dogs— with eclectic options so fitting for the downtown Lawrence scene. With dogs dressed in signature sauces like currywurst, and—get this—BACON JAM (let that marinate in your mind), Coney Island Hot Dogs is more than just your classic hot dog cart, although classics are always good and available! Visit Coney Island Hot Dogs ASAP on your trip.

BON BON 8 0 6 P E N N S Y LVA N I A S T.

Bon Bon is owned by Codi and Simon Bates, who also own the super-popular downtown restaurant, Burger Stand. Their Bon Bon menu is full of many foods we love, but with Bon Bon’s own awesome spin. For example, their queso comes with green tomato chutney, mescal, hatch chili, Monterey jack cheese and roasted garlic, and their Thai wings are marinated with nam phrik chili sauce—these are the Best Wings Ever and Best Queso Ever. Oh, and the sangria may have you staying for a while.
