CHILENO BAY GOLF & BEACH CLUB

Occupying a prime location along the Tourist Corridor, the Tom Fazio designed golf course routed in desert foothills and characterized by graceful, flowing landforms intended to simulate rolling ocean waves.

Originally opened in 2013, the golf course was recently treated to several major enhancements, including a new landscaping scheme. Bougainvillea, oleander and other colorful ornamentals now frame the fairways. Formal bunkers are filled with bright white sand imported from the United States.

The well-groomed course, interlaced by sandy arroyos, features an ocean view from every hole. Wide fairways and generously turfed areas create strategic options for good players while enhancing playability for average golfers.

Chileno Bay features back-to-back par-5’s at No. 6 and 7 as well as a pair of “driveable” short par-4’s at No. 8 and 11. The back nine builds to a crescendo at the testing par-4 18th, which stretches to 512 yards from the tips and tumbles downhill to an infinity-edge green.

Cabo Real

GOLF CLUB

The Cabo Real Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones II, opened in 1993 and has since hosted an impressive series of tournaments in Cabo San Lucas. These include: two Senior Slam PGA tournaments, three Taylor Made Pro Am tournaments and three Las Americas tournaments. This design is known for its holes along the Sea of Cortez, which sit high on mesas overlooking the sea. Jones designed the course to test low handicappers, but multiple tees make it enjoyable for average players as well.

The well-strategized course, always in top condition, is a desert-meets-sea masterpiece framed by bristling desert vegetation and dramatic rock formations. Several holes meander through a pair of stark canyons divided by a rocky hill, while two interior lakes bring water into play at several holes. Dramatic bunker complexes signpost the fairways and defend the subtly undulating greens.

Surrounded by old world charm, San José del Cabo is a historic gem with a unique blend of colonial era and contemporary Mexican architecture. The church itself has been moved from its original location several times and currently sits adjacent to the Plaza Mijares. Every year the community also honors the patron saint and namesake of San José del Cabo, Saint Joseph, with a week long festival. During the days of celebration be prepared to for a vibrant and colorful experience filled with music, dancing, parades and plenty of food and drinks.

It is at The Estuary where you will find a unique ecosystem teeming with an assortment of wildlife, where the fresh water running down from the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains mixes with the salty waters of the Sea of Cortez. Just ahead of the base of The Estuary lies a shoreline where golden grains of sand meet the Sea of Cortez for the perfect surfing waves during prime surf season.
