RURAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP 4 ALL KA210-ADU - Small-scale partnerships in adult education

Erasmus + Project Summary Target: Ten adults living in the rural zone (most of them with immigration backgrounds).


Introduction The idea of the project came during a skype call between the President of the Lithuanian association "ASOCIACIJA AKTYVISTAI" and the manager of the Italian association "ASSOCIAZIONE SLOW TOURISM ALTO ADIGE". The president of the Lithuanian association, trainer on entrepreneurship, always asks his student “If you find an interesting and quality job here would you emigrate? “The answer is always “No"! here I feel included in citizen life”. The Slow Tourism association has organized projects to widespread the culture of slow tourism in Italy and would like to test it in other two countries with the same problems of migration of young adults. The project was originally created to enhance the partnership between the 2 associations and prevent adults' migration from the rural areas and it targets; adults living in a rural areas and adults with immigrants background in Lithuania and Italy.

NEEDS AND GOALS OF EACH ASSOCIATION Slow Tourism Alto Adige: The objectives of the project are strictly related to the mission of south tyrol, that are: a. to increase the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship b. to enhance understanding and responsiveness to social, ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity c. to improve levels of skills for employability and new business creation (including social entrepreneurship) d. better recognition of skills and qualifications in europe and beyond e. improve competencies, linked to professional profiles. Needs and goals of target groups: Adults that want to migrate from rural villages to cities. Relation between the goals and needs: Training adults in increasing profitability of their farm and rural business through innovative and slow tourism ideas can avoid their migration. The association mainly promotes people's development, active participation, spread the ideas of sustainable development, promotes non-formal education as a tool for intercultural learning and self-development. Needs and goals of target groups: people that want to migrate from rural villages to cities. Relation between the goals and needs: increasing slow tourism, living and working in a little village can become profitable and nice.

Project description The general objective of the project is to enhanced employability and a sense of entrepreneurship of adults in rural areas to prevent their migration, since the reason to migrate is that they think that living in other countries or big cities is “the epitome of an effortless style and better life”. The specific objectives are: Create new employment opportunities in the tourism sector for people in rural areas Include emarginated people in local society. Enhance digital skills Give adult competencies on entrepreneurship. Give adults information, network and instruments to enhance slow tourism. The result is: that at least 30% of adult involved in the project find a quality job or become entrepreneurs. The target group for the project are: Adults living in rural areas Unemployed Adults excluded from active citizenship

Activity details Exchange of best practice: Each partner will organize 3 days in his city and invite 2 managers of the other association interested in the topic. The 3 days activity in Italy will be based on EXCHANGE OF BEST PRACTICE ON SLOW TOURISM. The president of the association will organize: a) One day about sustainable tourism b) One-day visit to 2 training farms c) One-day visit to an Incubator During these activities, there will be at least 2 hours of debriefing to discuss how these best practices can be taken to other countries. The 3 days activity in Kaunas will be based on ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR MIGRANTS The president of the association will organize: 1) One day on challenges for migrants 2) One-day visit migrants’ SMEs 3) One-day visit to stakeholders During these activities, there will be at least 2 hours of debriefing to discuss how these best practices can be taken to other countries.

Trainings and coaching activities: The organizations taking part are interested to implement projects with big quality and appropriate management. The Partners will be also paying high importance to the content quality of the project as it is an essential part of their improvement. Participating organizations are planning to be actively involved in the project’s preparation, implementation, and follow-up. The project includes; 1week of training on social entrepreneurship - Coaching to create a start-up. Drafting of a business plan with Canva: method: work in groups - Discover your SWOT: method: game Drafting a budget: method tool After the training, the trainer will be at disposal of the participants for: - Finding money to finance the start-up - Decide what kind of start-up suits his/her idea – set up a network to support them - Finding customers - Check every month the steps. The E.U. project manager of Slow Tourism has made a lot of training on entrepreneurship in South Tyrol and South of Italy but after the training, nobody followed the adults to set up a start-up. This is the difference between the training funded by E.S.F. and this project. The first difference is the coaching with the aim of: - Finding money to finance the start-up - Decide what kind of start-up suits his/her idea - Creating a network to support her – Finding customers The second is that the 3 associations will give these new potential entrepreneurs relationship in Europe through the stakeholders of each association. Specialization of CHB in the HUB and connection with a lot of corporates will be one of the most important drivers for giving adults motivation to create a successful startup.
