At the top of the page, click the arrow on the far right. This creates a drop down menu, useful for many things. As you will see, you may choose which account you would like to work with. Ensure you click on your business account when dealing with business matters, and vice versa when dealing with personal matters.

Switching between accounts – On a post At the bottom of the post you want to like or comment on, click the icon dropdown menu. This allows you to select which account you want to use to interact with the individual post. As you will see, you may choose which account you would like to work with. Ensure you click on your business account when dealing with business matters, and vice versa when dealing with personal matters.

Adding a cover photo A cover photo is essentially the banner for your page. The size is more wide and thin than a regular photo; it is important to keep this in mind when choosing a picture.

By clicking the top left of the screen where it says “Add a Cover, a drop down menu will appear where you choose to take a photo you have previously added to your Facebook page, or to choose one from your computer. Once the picture appears in the Cover Photo area, you can use your mouse to drag the picture to fit the spot more to your liking.

The same steps occur when changing your Cover photo, as well.

One section you may find particularly useful, is “Page Roles”, where you can add and edit the roles and responsibilities of people who will also work on your page.

Advertising You may wish to create ads, or take advantage of some of the other advertising opportunities Facebook offers. By clicking on “Create Ads” or “Advertising on Facebook”, you will be directed to pages containing a wealth of information on advertising, how-to’s, options, etc.

Accessing Your Pages Feed In order to access your business Pages Feed, you will need to be on your main Business Page. Once you are here, click on the “See Pages Feed link in the menu on the Left-hand side of your page.

Pages Feed This will take you to your Pages Feed, which is made up of posts from businesses that you liked. From here you can like, comment, share and interact with the businesses you follow. Make sure you are interacting with these posts as your business account, not your personal one!

Sharing a Post As a Business • As long as you are in your Business Page Feed, anything you share will be directly shared to your Business Account. • However, if you are using Facebook on your own personal account but see something that would be great for your business, there are ways to quickly share that to your business page as well.

Sharing a Post When you want to share something from your personal feed to your business feed, click the Share button and select “Share.. for options.

Sharing a Post (cont.) This will bring up the post in a new window. Click “Share on your own Timeline” Then select “Share on a Page you manage” from the menu.

Sharing a Post (cont.) This now gives you a drop down menu to select which Page you want to post as. Select which page you want to share on, then add any commentary you want in the comment section. Finally, press “Post.

Page Content When creating content for your page, make sure that you follow the 20%/80% rule! This means that you should balance self-promotion with promoting other business related topics to your followers. For every post about your own business promotion, 4 others should be about something related to your industry, or your community. Example: If you are a B&B, one post should be about your own services/a beautiful photo of your location, while the next post should be related to attractions in the area, a fun community event or exciting developments in the tourism & hospitality industry.

Content Development Example 2: If your business hosts a lot of weddings/events, it would be a good idea to post images from Pinterest on flowers and dĂŠcor, or share posts from other businesses in town that offer services that could be useful. An important part of getting and sharing this information is liking and following other local businesses.
