New Uniform Policy Uniformed staff reassures guests of a level of caring, professionalism, and comfort. When encountering hotel staff, guests expect that it will be easy to tell that the person approaching is a representative of the hotel. On September 9, 2007, the Board of Directors of Best Western International, Inc. enacted a new policy clarifying the existing rules governing the appearance of hotel staff while on duty. Existing rules have not been enforced to ensure that we meet guests’ expectations in this area. The Maritz research found that name tags are a Cost of Entry item. Uniforms are Satisfiers (future Cost of Entry items).

Most competitors have endorsed uniform suppliers from whom their franchisees must buy their uniforms. There are usually allowances for local flair. Typically, this type of dictatorial approach is not palatable in Best Western’s culture.

X Clothing with prominent logos (other than Best Western), sayings, and /or bold illustrations are not acceptable. X Attire may tastefully reflect local character. Returns: If you are not fully satisfied, notify us of your desire to return any stock items within 30 days of receipt of merchandise. A “Return Goods Authorization” (RGA) will be sent to you promptly. After our receipt of the returned merchandise, a credit of the purchase price will be made for styles returned in accordance with the RGA instructions unless such styles have been worn, laundered, dry cleaned, altered, abused, embroidered, emblem added, marked or specially made per buyer’s instructions. Returns will not be accepted by our distribution center without an RGA. A restocking charge may be incurred along with shipping and handling charges. To help save time on your return, please have the following information available: • Packing lists (showing the delivery number) • Invoice number and date • Style number(s), size and quantity being returned • Reason for the return Please follow all instructions as outlined in the RGA.
