UG CC CS This programme offers you the chance to explore
English literature, and formulate your own critical responses to the subject, in a stimulating and sympathetic learning environment. The programme is designed to develop your skills of writing, articulation, analysis and research. Core modules will broaden your understanding of the discipline of English, and introduce you to its most important writers throughout history. A wide range of optional modules lets you explore individual genres, periods, or areas of study, such as linguistics. An English degree is a recognised qualification for entry to many graduate careers. Successful students have gone on to work in business, journalism and a wide range of other professions. If you are considering a career in teaching then the comprehensive nature of this degree, together with the option to pursue an intensive study of Shakespeare in your final year, makes it an excellent preparation.
