The year 2013 will always be remembered as the year in which Crime Stoppers International reinvented itself. The year began with President Alexander Mac Donald and Development Officer Devrol Dupigny having productive meetings with global organizations Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Scotiabank and CNN.

Crime Stoppers Vision To Help Stop, Solve and Prevent Crime Globally.

In May, the CSI Board of Directors met in Barbados for its annual Spring Board Meeting. At this meeting the Board was able to finalize the organization’s strategic plan along with a new vision and mission. It was agreed that this strategic plan would be formally presented to the organization at the Annual General Meeting which was scheduled to take place at the Conference in October 2013.

VISIT TO INTERPOL HQ President Alex and Development Officer Devrol, visited INTERPOL’s Headquarters in Lyon France on May 29th, where they met with Director Operational Police Support, Michael O’Connell and several of INTERPOL’s Sub Directorates. This visit helped to solidify the relationship with INTERPOL as discussions centered around the expansion of the Co-operation Agreement and the implementation of various types of joint initiatives.


In the following months, emphasis was placed on preparing for the 34th Annual Crime Stoppers International Conference and the building of partnerships with organizations that had indicated an interest in working with Crime Stoppers. The 2013 CSI Conference was held in Barbados from September 29th – October 2nd 2013. Feedback received from delegates and presenters suggest that the Conference was an overwhelming success. The objectives of the Conference, which were in keeping with the organization’s overall

strategic plan, were achieved. In addition to discussing traditional issues such as drug trafficking, wanted fugitives and firearms, new crime areas such as Intellectual Property Crimes, Crimes Against Children and Financial Crimes were addressed. Delegates were able to gain a better understanding

of how these types of crimes are being perpetrated, the nexus between global organized crime and crime being committed in local communities, and the role of each Crime Stoppers program with respect to these issues. Relationships with existing and new partners were also solidified.

INTERPOL GENERAL ASSEMBLY On behalf of President Alex, First Vice President Peter Price attended the 82nd INTERPOL General Assembly which took place in Cartagena Columbia from October 21st – 24th. At this forum, Vice President Peter held discussions with several of INTERPOL’s senior officials with regards to the development and implementation of joint initiatives to combat transnational crime. CSI was invited to participate and deliver a presentation at the 2nd INTERPOL Global Conference on Trafficking in Human Beings which was held on November 14th &15 in Lyon France. Alex and Devrol attended this Conference and were able to develop alliances with a number of global organizations. Discussions are currently at an advanced stage with several of these organizations.
