Urban Design Applications in 6 continents

This program aimed at introducing Urban Design (and Planning) in practice, and its unique challenges, roles, and processes in different contexts and parts of the world, while taking us through the processes of formulation, approaches, design, and implementation of projects in separate locations on six continents- North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. In this workshop, we had to identify an urban design issue within the Indian context and draw comparisons with a location of our choice within our assigned continent - South America. After selecting the site within the chosen Indian city which is Chamda Bazar, Dharavi drawing its comparisons to La Villa Miseria, Buenos Aires, we presented our idea of design interventions while providing critical reasoning of the same.
