The Powerlines Caper Trip report for Sunday July 19 Richard and Jack le Serve A good turnout of 14 cars took a chance on the weather for this day in the hills and what a day it turned out to be! A little bit of everything with mud, sweat and tears especially for the car in the last photo. Under the able leadership of Peter Andruszkiw, the cars set off from Flynn Road towards the Powerlines track and turned east about a kilometre down Flynn Road, onto the track proper. It was a bit slippery, as the rain gods had been turning the tap on and off most of the way up to the meeting place. Several places needed a bit of heavy right foot and others a bit of patience to walk the little cars up a track, quite cut up by the rain and probably by the passage of heavy four-wheelers passing that way. After a stop for morning tea we proceeded to make our way through mostly rocky and slippery gravel and mud. A passing cavalcade of quad bikes, two wheel dirt bikes and heavy 4wd vehicles passed both ways and all were quite amiable and pleasant. At one point, the convoy came to a halt as the leadership group tried to work out the best way up a vicious hilly incline with sharp rocks and gulPage 25
