Dr. Brooks is one of only a handful of Urologists in the United States skilled at the Radical Perineal Prostatectomy; a minimally invasive, approximately one hour, cost effective surgical procedure for prostate cancer allowing for immediate resumption of diet and typically, discharge the following morning. Dr. Brooks believes this technique offers advantages to robotic prostatectomy. He is one of the most experienced surgeons on this surgical approach for prostate cancer having perfected the procedure over the last twentyfive years. He is skilled at all aspects of Urology including the treatment of kidney stones, ED, incontinence, the treatment of prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancers. Dr. Brooks is also an accomplished implant surgeon with over twenty five years experience with penile implants and artificial urinary sphincters. He finds vasectomy reversals to be very rewarding and has enjoyed great success at this procedure, which he provides at a very reasonable fee.

Dr. Steven Brooks is proud to have served tens of thousands of patients
throughout Seminole and Orange county over the last twenty-five years. It is quite a distinction that many of these patients have been with him since he established his practice years ago. Both doctor and patient alike have enjoyed the bonds created over the years. He has a legacy of excellent patient care and service to Central Florida and is deeply grateful to receive this People’s Choice award. Dr. Brooks knew from an early age that he wanted to be a physician and started to work toward this goal early on in high school. He was the recipient of two National Science Foundation summer scholarship programs. As a consequence of his academic achievement, the doctor was one of a very small and select group of high school seniors accepted simultaneously to both college and medical school. He was one of only twenty students selected yearly for his program. Originally from New York, he received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut, graduating at the top of his class. He did his General Surgery training at the esteemed NYU/Bellevue in New York City, returning to the University of Connecticut for his Urology Residency. Dr. Brooks is Board certified and is honored to be in his twelfth year as Chief of Surgery for South Seminole Hospital. Having been on staff for twenty-five years, he is very proud of Orlando Health, South Seminole Hospital and assures you the highest level of personalized care at this facility. The Doctor has had an interest in research having published and presented his first research paper as only a college freshman. He has continued his interest in research within his medical practice as a principal investigator for a number of investigational medications and medical devices. In 1997 he was privileged to be invited to present the key note address at the launch of one of these medications, with this medicine eventually becoming one of the most frequently prescribed therapies, world wide, for the enlarged prostrate. You can be sure that you will see Dr. Brooks personally at every visit. He has a wonderful and experienced staff, some of which having been with the doctor for over twenty years. The doctor provides personally dictated notes to your referring physicians, and believes patient education is a critical component of patient care. His parents instilled a great sense of empathy and community service and he strives to honor their memory through the care he provides. Known for his kind heart, sense of humor and his compassion Dr. Brooks makes an effort to get to know each of his patients personally, adhering to the strong belief that you have to treat the whole patient, particularly when dealing with sensitive issues such as cancer, incontinence, voiding dysfunction, sexual dysfunction and illness in general. He shares in his patient’s medical triumphs and is by their side during difficult times. Dr. Brooks is dating Genevieve and is looking forward to a wonderful future together. As a preeminent Personal Trainer she is doing her best to keep him limber and away from too much pizza. He begins each day with a spirited run where he is unable to keep up with his girlfriend, but that’s not for lack of trying. He continues to be known for his amazing hamburger affectionately named the “Brooks Burger.” He looks forward to having you as a patient.
