TIME TO INVEST IN QUALITY
IS GLAUCOMA IN YOUR FAMILY?
AS INNOVATIVE ROASTERS, we are taking a stand against landfill by focusing on sustainable initiatives. One way we do this is by encouraging our discerning customers to adopt drinking habits that will help combat the 1 billion coffee cups thrown away each year in Australia. Research has confirmed that handcrafted, specialty coffee is best enjoyed in porcelain, ceramic, glass or china. Next time you stop at your local café, stay a few extra minutes to enjoy your coffee in a porcelain cup and enjoy some quality time before your day starts. As responsible business operators, we endorse a simple principle: dine-in beats takeaway any day! One reason our café-loving country has fallen victim to the paper cup is the convenience of it. We understand that life moves fast. If you don’t want to be slowed down, treat yourself to a reusable coffee cup (such as La Bontazza) to keep you on the go. It’s time for Australia to ditch the takeaway cup once and for all!
SINCE THE INCEPTION of the Wil Valor label 12 years ago, we have created and delivered more than 25,000 garments, 20 of them velvet jackets. Although a velvet suit jacket may not be an everyday necessity, it is a statement piece that should reside in every gentleman’s wardrobe and here are the reasons why: • It feels amazing on. Not only is it soft to touch, but it hugs your body beautifully. • It’s the perfect alterative to a sports jacket for after-5 and cocktail events. • Works as a versatile jacket that can be used for formal occasions, too. There are two types of velvet: silk velvet and cotton velvet. Silk velvet is quite delicate and soft to touch, giving it an amazing look and feel. Cotton is always great, but it is what you will find in cheap menswear stores and doesn’t have the depth of colour or the lustre of silk. If you’re looking to invest in the best, look no further than German velvet as it is the best in the world. German fabric is what we use at Wil Valor to create our tailored velvet garments.
GLAUCOMA IS A worldwide problem that leads to blindness if not detected and managed. In its early stages it is asymptomatic, which means up to half of all people with glaucoma don’t realise they have it. Glaucoma is a common, slowly progressive, potentially vision-threatening disease that causes damage to the optic nerve inside the eye. One of the greatest risks for glaucoma is a family history of the disease. Patients with known first-degree relatives diagnosed with the disease should have regular glaucoma screening with their optometrist, at least 10 years earlier than the disease onset in their relatives. This will provide individuals with the greatest possible chance of maintaining their eye health and vision. Known associations include high myopia (short-sightedness), eye pressure, diabetes, sleep apnoea and high blood pressure. Glaucoma can be investigated as part of a routine eye examination. Book an appointment with us to take steps to preserve your vision.
