Ilya Yashkin and Romy Boesveldt Founders of Studio ROOF and Atelier TOIT
Both brands are based in Amsterdam but they are also strongly connected to the south of France, where we lived when we developed Studio ROOF 17 years ago and where we now have a house again, located between vineyards, next to the river Orb and surrounded by nature.
Because we make them in our own studio by hand, one piece at a time, they can be adapted to your wishes and ideas. Do not hesitate to inquire about the possibilities. Enchanting eyecatchers
We built them from wood and painted them by hand, using our characteristic bold color palette. The objects we created were fresh, original and imaginative. Playful and poetic like the cardboard products of Studio ROOF but clearly with their own signature, a new look, a new feel – and more exclusive.
Romy & Ilya Welcome to the home of imagination
About a year ago we founded Atelier Toit. A new brand that has sprouted from the experimental playground of the Dutch brand Studio ROOF. Fueled by the enormous amount of colors and shapes that we designed over the past 17 years, new three-dimensional shapes came into existence.
Our infinite source of inspiration
Atelier Toit keeps on experimenting and exploring roads off the beaten track. Its pieces are either unique or made in very limited editions. The artworks of all sizes light up any room in any house, big or small. Besides that they are perfectly suited as colorful eyecatchers in big (public) spaces such as hallways, hotel receptions, restaurants and offices, particularly our big objects.
Here we created a poetical universe that, through its colors, its shapes, and its wit, reveals the essence of our creativity. Here we like to welcome friends, colleagues, customers and our team to relax, play, talk and find new inspiration.
This house and its surroundings definitely feed our imagination. This is why we have called our new brand Atelier Toit, the literal French translation of Studio ROOF.

In our 400 m2 studio in Amsterdam, we have all the space we need to construct the Atelier Toit pieces. For this we use different kinds of wood; from beechwood to plywood. The loose parts are first milled by a local Thenwoodworker.westart working on them.
