THARAYIL KADAVU MISSION
(Kayamkulam Center Mar Thoma Mission)
Dear St. Thomas Parishioners, ‘Tharayil Kadavu Ministry’ a coastal region mission works near Kayamkulam started by our Late. Metropolitan Dr. Abraham Marthoma in 1936. The whole community belongs to fishermen folk. Their education and health care are below average. They need real support and encouragement. Adoor Diocese restarted that ministry recently. At present, we are concentrating on school going students. We
have after school educational assistance and caring program there. Around 100 students from the neighboring community regularly come there. We provide them nutritious refreshment and educational assistance through qualified teachers. During the time of tsunami, our old dilapidated church building and the mission house survived so the people in that area keep good faith in our church and centre. At present we use the old building as students care centre. I am very much concerned about safety of the building. So we need a hall where students can comfortably seated and continue their studies. If the St. Thomas Church can take up this new project, I be very happy to keep this activity on your name. Yours in His Service Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa
