He is the author of the short story collection Quintessence of Dust, and the novels To Die Upon a Kiss and The Sound of Loneliness. She currently teaches at the University of Michigan, where she earned her mfa in poetry, held a Zell Fellowship, and received two Hopwood awards and the 2010 Moveen Residency.
