Jenny Bicat trained in Fine Art. She puts colour into cloth drawing on her knowledge of painting. In her studio she develops, using traditional (non-digital) screen printing techniques, intricately engineered designs on silk, linen and calico – flat pattern pieces that she hand sews (then makes) into unique scarves, jackets and occasional decor pieces. She delights in combining the best traditions of twentieth century art and craft with the often sculptural experiments of modern fashion.

In recent years Liz has worked on ‘textile-led’ projects in collaboration with Studio Seven, a group of seven textile artists. The group has staged pioneering ‘textile led’ performances and installations exploring unconventional ways of showing textiles.

Now joyfully released from the worlds of industry and education, she relishes the perversity of making clothes and fabrics which, by being made in paper as well as by being assembled behind sealed glass, are both inaccessible and unwearable.

Ursula hand-sews and binds writing books, sketch books and albums. She covers them with traditional English and Japanese papers, and hand-decorated papers by contemporary designers in the UK and Europe. Shireen Morris joint artist-led exhibition at Frogmarsh Mill Frogmarsh Mill, South Woodchester, Stroud GL5 5ET m: 07979 746074 e: themorrisclan@aol.com Shireen enjoys painting bright, lively and colourful paintings using mixed media. By working mainly from still life she arranges flowers, fruit and interesting vessels to create an almost edible subject, full of life and vitality, inspiring her to begin her work. By incorporating soft beautiful unison pastels, tissue paper, found old bits of paper (unfinished work) until colour, tone (from mono prints that she produces) and vibrancy have been reached. Shireen painted with Anthony Hodge for many years, someone who inspired her and who is sadly missed.

Elaine Day is a Jeweller and Silversmith. Working with sterling silver, gold, precious and semi precious stones, she employs traditional techniques to produce unique ‘one-off’ pieces. Her work reflects the flora and fauna she encounters above and below water, in a personal and sometimes humorous way. Elaine has exhibited in galleries around the UK and with the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen.

Rare-breed fleece and plant-dyed fleece add a natural quality to her portraits of animals and birds. Her sculptures and wall-hangings have a light textured form that paradoxically captures nature’s fine detail but soft edges. Collections for 2015 will include a study of Hares and wall hangings inspired by the River Severn. The Textile workshop will be open from 10am both weekends and from 10am – 2pm during the week.
