ie ABA ART LAB Galerie und Studio im Herzen der

Stadt Palma – vor dem Museum für moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst ESBALUARD – ist eine Kunstinstitution, die sich selbst mit dem Attribut „Lab“, also „Labor“ definiert. Ausschlaggebend ist in jedem Fall: Qualität. Künstlerinnen und Künstler, die vom ABA ART LAB eingeladen werden, stammen entweder aus Mallorca oder kommen aus aller Welt hierher, um die Galerie, ihre Philosophie und ihr Konzept kennen zu lernen. Alle Ausstellungen werden mindestens ein Jahr im Voraus geplant. Deshalb haben die ausgewählten Künstler ein Jahr Zeit – exklusiv für die Galerie und speziell für den Galerieraum – Malerei, Skulpturen, Installationen, Performances zu kreieren. Damit wird ABA ART oft genug auch zur Experimentierbühne für absolut Einmaliges, zum Katalysator für Projekte, wie sie so nur hier auf der Insel entstehen können.

Alejandra Bordoy Bennàsar (Palma de Mallorca, 1976) Studium der Kunstgeschichte an der Universidad de Salamanca. Arbeitete an der Abteilung für Moderne Kunst im Museum der Schönen Künste von Belgien. Meister mit Auszeichnung in Museologie in der École du Louvre, Paris. Arbeitete in der Kulturabteilung des Musée du Louvre, Public Management und kulturelle Beziehungen. Abschluss in Kritik der zeitgenössischen Kunst (EINA), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Co-Autor des Catalogue Raisonné von Joan Miró – Die Sammlung: Pilar und Joan Miró Stiftung – Palma de Mallorca. Direktorin der Galerie Camba (2002–2004) und seit 2004 Co-Direktorin von ABA. Als Expertin für zeitgenössische Kunst widmet sie sich der Kuratierung von Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen von nationalen und internationalen Künstlern.

Maria Isabel Bordoy Bennàsar (Palma de Mallorca, 1976) Studium der Politikwissenschaften, Internationale Beziehungen und Europäische Integration an der ULB – Université Libre de Bruxelles. Master mit Auszeichnung in Immigration, Internationale Beziehungen und Soziale interkulturelle Mediation an der Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Arbeitete für europäische Projekte und für die Abteilung für Wirtschaftsförderung und Unternehmertum der Stadtverwaltung von Palma de Mallorca. Direktorin der Galerie Camba (2002–2004) und Co-Direktorin von ABA seit 2004. Absolventin des Programms für Führungskräfteentwicklung (PDD) der IESE Business School – Universidad de Navarra.

Wesentlich bestimmt und inspiriert wird dieses Konzept durch die Tatsache, dass mit den Zwillingsschwestern Alejandra und Maria Isabel Bordoy Bennàsar seit nunmehr 15 Jahren zwei renommierte Kuratorinnen mit Liebe und Leidenschaft für Menschen, die „Kunst machen“, für Qualität und für Mallorca am Werk sind. Und die selbst auch in der Lage sind „out-of-the-box“ zu denken; also selbst kreativ sind sowie neugierig und offen für Neues, Außergewöhnliches.

MULTIKULTURELL. INTERDISZIPLINÄR. ABA ART LAB begann 2004 als lokale Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst in Palma de Mallorca. Seitdem hat es sich zu einer Kunst-Institution entwickelt – international agierend und renommiert. Unter der Direktion von Alejandra Bordoy Bennàsar und Maria Isabel Bordoy Bennàsar arbeitet hier ein multikulturelles und interdiszipliniertes Team, das auf Spanisch, Englisch, Französisch, Deutsch, Russisch und Arabisch kommuniziert. Das Resultat: Kunstliebhaber, -sammler und -investoren können in puncto zeitgenössische Kunst Resultate erwarten, die in jeder Hinsicht – ideell, qualitativ und materiell – wertvoll sind und Perspektive haben. Denn ABA repräsentiert eine kulturell vielfältige Gemeinschaft zeitgenössischer Künstler von internationaler Relevanz. In den „ABA-ART-LAB-Projekträumen“ werden sie unter ständig wechselnden Schwerpunkten gezeigt. I was so thankful, but one of them said: If you really made this wine, then I am sure I just made a wonderful deal. They still are our costumers, actually we sell the majority of our wine to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. But we welcome all wine lovers to Ca'n Feliu.“
