The Archipelago Trail
THE ARCHIPELAGO SHORT TRAIL takes you through
the inner archipelago. Many stop off at Själö on the ferry between Nagu and Rymättylä. Please note that vehicles are not allowed on this beautiful island. The short sea voyage offers breezes of Airisto – a beautiful stretch of sea between Turku and Pargas that inspired the music for the Airisto Waltz.
Classic: 250 km Short Trail: 100 km Position: Archipelago Sea’s western side Route: see the map on last page The Archipelago Trail has attracted cyclists, bikers and motorists for over 20 years. Island hopping is the route’s specialty - it offers no less than nine ferries and a multitude of bridges. There are great restaurants and places to stay the night. Farm shops and kiosks have increased during the last few years providing delicious treats along the way. Signposting: The Archipelago Trail is marked with brown signs. What to see: Boat museum in Houtskär, Jungfrudansen troy town stone maze in Finby, Nagu, Kuusisto Bishop’s Castle Ruins, Kustavi handicraft village.
