Planned giving is finding ways to make charitable gifts now or after your lifetime while enjoying financial benefits for yourself today. Sometimes it’s difficult to be charitable when the future is uncertain — after all, your family comes first. But there is a way to make a significant gift that takes into account tax-saving strategies and income-producing assets. These types of gifts are planned gifts. While the primary purpose of a planned gift is to help the charitable cause of your choice, its secondary purpose may be for you to enjoy the personal financial or family benefits that certain plans can provide you. Planned gifts can be made now to immediately support our needs, or they can be enacted upon your death as a final way to leave your legacy.

Dear Friends of Stratford,

The second phase of the Excellence Never Rests capital campaign was launched during the 2013-2014 fiscal year. With a goal of $4.5 million, this campaign represents the final piece of Stratford’s master campus plan with the addition of the new Cantrell Lower School and repurposing the current Lower School facilities. Every division of the school will benefit from this campaign, as it includes additional facilities for our Upper and Middle School fine arts classes, athletic programs, Upper School academic programs and ASAP (after school/summer) programs. The public phase of this campaign began in fall 2014 with a tailgate party kick-off celebration prior to a home football game and a donor recognition event. Throughout the school year, funds were continually raised and by summer 2015 $3.5 million of the $4.5 million had been raised. Ground was broken on the new Cantrell Lower School in July 2015, and the new building should open with the 2016-2017 school year. Stratford took a leap of faith this summer by beginning construction in order to fulfill the promise to our families and teachers that the new Lower School would be ready in one year. Currently, Stratford is at a critical place in our capital campaign with the goal to finalize the last $1 million needed
