SPL NEWS Triathlon Postponed

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the St. Anthony’s Triathlon has decided to again reschedule the weekend of events for the 38th annual race to October 1-3, 2021. “This was a difficult decision to make but the safety of our athletes, volunteers, sponsors and fans is of the utmost importance to St. Anthony’s Hospital and to our Triathlon team,” said St. Anthony’s President Scott Smith. “We will continue to monitor the pandemic and are hopeful that by fall we will present a safe and healthy race.”

Solar Co-op Forming

St. Pete residents and small business owners have a new opportunity to learn about the advantages of installing solar on March 18 and April 7 when nonprofit Solar United Neighbors (SUN) offers free virtual informational meetings. The sessions are promoting the launch of a new Greater St. Pete Solar Co-op, which is taking reservations now. Co-op members will learn about solar energy and leverage their bulk-purchasing power to purchase individual solar systems at a competitive price and top quality. “The City of St. Petersburg is delighted to partner with Solar United Neighbors (SUN) for their sixth St. Pete Co-op,” said St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman, who installed solar panels on his home last November. “SUN continues to help St. Pete residents, including me, add clean, solar PV to their home’s energy supply – over 1 MW of solar capacity in the last few years. My personal experience with SUN was professional, efficient, and fun.” Anyone interested in going solar can register for an upcoming information session at https://coops.solarunitedneighbors. org/coops/greater-st-pete-solar-co-op/ Hurry, co-op closes to new members May 3.
