St. Paul’s Eat ‘n Play

Campers can dine at “Eat ‘n Play” - a full-service RESTAURANT for dramatic play/ role play. Kids will use their imaginations to become chefs, hosts, waiters, and customers.

Cooks and Books

City Market Chefs

Join this camp as we travel to the popular City Market, learn how to pick out the best produce, identify creative ways to cook healthy and enjoy the art of cooking! Whether you are a novice or expert, we can all learn a new cooking technique or two! Why not learn from the best?! On Friday, students will share what they learned in a cooking show at St. Paul’s!

The World of Eric Carle Art

Like Eric Carle, all children have experiences in their lives that make good stories. We will use Carle’s tissue painting technique to illustrate the story of our lives!

Summer Leap

Turn the Summer Slide into a Summer Leap by taking this Scholastic based LitCamp/ literacy program that combines innovative lessons with an engaging and interactive summer camp approach. Students will make reading, writing, and social-emotional gains that they’ll carry back to school in the fall.

Tapestry Weaving

This class will be learning how to weave on a Journey Loom, which is 14” x 20”. We will learn the basics of weaving, the terminolog, how to ready the loom, and create bundles for the weft. We will make small amulet bags and dolls. We will learn how to do wet felting, as well as learn basic stitching techniques to complete forms. Looms will be supplied for the students to use in class.

Community Connection

Campers will participate in community service projects, both on and off campus. Potential activies include volunteering at a local food pantry, caring for animal shelter pets, and gardening at a community urban garden, just to name a few. Middle schoolers can use their time in this camp towards their annual community service hours.

Spain Visit - Prep Camp

If you are considering traveling with your St. Paul’s peers to Spain in 8th grade, this camp is a must! Spend the week focusing on immersion experiences and speaking the language. Plus, it’s a great way to have fun with friends and Srta. Carmen.

Checkmate Challenge Chess Camp

The Kansas City Chess Club’s certified staff will show beginners through advanced students how to improve their play. Daily activities will include casual play, chess lessons, training exercises, building Lego chess sets and chessboards, All levels are welcome!

Runway Fashion Design

The Fashion Design class is all about you! Create a “line” of clothing, from dressy to casual chic! Summer in the City will have a special camp for students to learn about Kansas City. Whether they are a native or a visitor there’s lots to learn. We will learn about the geography behind neighborhoods in Kansas City from 18th & Vine to Country Club Plaza, Downtown, Southwest Blvd, and many more!

Lego Camp

Prepare to create your own Lego City during this exciting week at St. Paul’s with Mrs. Englund! Build anything from roads to skyscrapers with your friends while exploring the art of architecture and letting your imagination run wild!

Magic Tree House

Welcome to a week of adventure! We will travel in time, play games, and learn about the cultures of fantastic places. You will collaborate with friends to write your own chapters in the Jack and Annie saga. We will also learn about Merlin, Morgan, and King Arthur.

If You Give a Pig a Pancake

Survivor School

Your camper will discover what it takes to survive a zombie apocalypse, learn about zombie folklore throughout history, forage through catastrophes on Earth and Mars, and plan how to survive various hypothetical events that could occur in the future of humanity.

Pinata Making Camp

In this cultural arts camp, we will make various paper mache pinatas. Piñatas have a rich and fascinating history, even the sticks used; campers will learn about the history. Campers will get to visit the pinata gallery at the end of the camp.

Embroidery & Sewing

This class is for anyone who loves to create! Students will be expanding their skill set by learning the fundamentals of basic sewing techniques. We will learn each skill, step by step through 2-dimensional fun projects. We will move into learning how to create threedimensional objects with felt and stitch and stuffing!! The possibilities are endless, dolls, aliens, animals, etc.

Making in the Space

Myth Busters

Can lightning strike twice? Is a penny dropped from the Empire State Building dangerous?

Can pop rocks and soda explode a stomach? Start your camper off on a path of critically cool thinking where they help bust common myths, folklore, and scientific misconception through the scientific method. They’ll investigate quirky science like possible benefits of a sailor’s eye patch and whether toilets or commonly used items are germier.

Jungle Jammin’

Join us on a jungle-tastic adventure and expedition! We’ll move and sound like lions, exotic birds, monkeys, elephants, and more. Come and listen to jungle stories, craft animal art projects and masks, make drums and create some outrageous jungle rhythms, and sing some fun jungle inspired songs.

Self Care in the City

Campers will learn the basics of self care and wellness. Every day, we will participate in fun self care activities, including making our own face masks, going on nature walks, learning about mindfulness, doing yoga flows, and journaling. Campers will learn about why self care is important and end their camp day feeling relaxed and recharged!

Squishy Camp

YouTube Fanatic

This camp will bring some of popular kidapproved videos to life. We will make slime, have a squishy makeover, and enjoy some toy unboxing. Students will make their own versions of the try not to laugh challenge, Disney challenge, and start the Youtube Kids 30 days of reading for 20 minutes a day challenge. Students should bring a book each day. (Note: We won’t actually be watching YouTube).

Stomp

Inspired by the Broadway show, Stomp, we will make music and create movement using everyday items from around the school. This high-energy week culminates with a performance created by students. Warning: we sometimes make big noises and big messes!

Beginner Hand Sewing & Quilting

Learn how to make your own fiber creations! We will be designing and creating pencil cases and jean pocket organizers. Activism 101

Campers will learn about impactful activists who have advocated for change throughout history and in the present. We will visit local museums and organizations that can teach us about what activism looks like and how activists have changed the world. Lemonade Stand Business Academy

Campers become lemonade entrepreneurs as they learn how to make the best homemade lemonade and set up a business. Campers will design marketing flyers, estimate profits, create their lemonade stand, and experiment with baked good recipes. At the end of the week, campers will sell their lemonade and baked goods. Families are invited to support the business on Friday. All money raised will support our Sister School, Holy Cross in Haiti.

Campers can learn to express themselves through sewing! The Next Great Baker

Slime Lab

Learn the science behind slime as you make your own magnetic slime, unicorn slime, cloud slime, beach slime, color-changing slime, and more! Create your own branded slime design using our sticker printer and use our 3D printer to make their own container. Christmas in June

Cocomelon Dance Party

The Wild Wild Jungle

Students will dive into the biggest unit of 3rd grade, The Rainforest unit. We will research and identify different animals found in this ecosystem. Students will be assigned an animal and make a miniture version of it in class. Students will get an in-depth look into how this creation process takes place in preparation for a life-size animal they will create for a special exhibit in 3rd grade.

Girls ONLY Stayover

Girls ONLY Stayover: It’s PJs and girl talk all week long in this camp that inspires camaraderie and friendship. Girls will express their creative side, make treats, play games, and more! Dungeons & Dragons

Learn the world of Dungeons and Dragonsan old favorite for many! Explore the world of pen and paper role-playing games. Campers will feel like heroes while performing, solving problems, and writing creatively. We will take a field trip to the Nelson Atkins Museum and visit the Medieval section for some inspiration.

This fun camp will explore TikTok’s “Made Me Cook It” list, with a strong focus on naturebased and healthy recipies. We will be making items like hashbrown waffles, the tortilla wrap hack, Flamin’ Hot Cheeto Salad, and more.

WEEK 6 (JULY 17 - 21)

Tiptoe into Toddler

Join Miss Marston and Miss Hickey for a sneakpeek of the Toddler life at St. Paul’s. This week will give you a chance to experience some of the typical school routines. The morning sessions will involve play (indoor and outdoor), exploration, laughs, and plenty of hugs. This camp offers an opportunity for a smoother transition on the first few days of school!

Disney Baking & Cooking

Is your little chef also a Disney fan? Each day, we will meet to bake up a delicious treat inspired by a Disney movie. We will talk about Disney’s cooking stories and characters, and hit the kitchen to learn baking terminology and skills!

Dinosaurs, digsites, and adventures with Mr. Kae! It’s a romping, stomping good time to be a dinosaur fan! Play with dino toys from each era, learn the essential facts about your favorite Terrible Lizard, and enjoy triassic treats.

Yes Day! Camp

In this camp based off the book, Yes Day! written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, we will dive into the positive impact of saying Yes to most everything. Students get to explore the possibilities of their imagination through drawing activities and hands-on projects. Kids will be asked to create their own dream “Yes Day!” while using life’s little pleasures.

DIY Popin’ Cookin’

This camp will help curious campers develop creativity by making and playing with miniature edible products. We will make ramen, donuts and more!

Baby Care Class

Diaper changes, burping, sleep schedules— this camp teaches all the basics of newborn and baby care. RealCare Baby infant simulator is a lifelike, lifesize baby doll with realistic computerized responses, which allows teens to experience some of the demands of infant care.

Students will use Tinkercad to learn how to design and create objects with the 3D printer. We will also take a trip to the 3DHQ store on the Plaza!

Bodies in Motion

Creative movement is encouraged through imaginative play and free dance. Props and activities will be used to create a whole new learning environment. Campers will march, count music, and learn very basic dance steps to building communication, memory development, and social interaction skills.

Learn all about our hometown, Kansas City! Whether a camper is a KC native, a tranplant or a visitor there’s lots to learn and see. This week, we will learn about why 24 million people travel here each year to visit institutions like the National WW1 Museum, The Steamboat Arabia Museum, the 18th & Vine Historic Jazz District, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and Union Station!

Astronauts Academy

Can life be found outside of our planet? Your camper will blast off and explore the known and unknown universe! Campers will learn how NASA scientists find exoplanets, experiment with tools astronauts use in space, design a spaceship, complete virtual reality space challenges, and use 3D printers to design models of alien life.

Commerce Capital: Summer Edition

Learn what it takes to run a business and be part of a community through this summer edition of Commerce Capital. Campers will work together to develop business plans, create budgets, apply for loans, and create marketing and advertising. The camp will culminate with the opening of our city!

Podcasting in the City

Ever thought of creating a podcast yourself, but you’re not even sure what step one is? In this camp, we are going to learn the basics of podcasting from researching, writing the script, adding sound effects and recording.

Community Connection

Each day, campers will participate in community service projects, both on and off campus. Potential activities include volunteering at a local food pantry, caring for pets in an animal shelter, gardening at a community urban garden, and preparing lunches for children in need. Middle schoolers can use their time in this camp towards their annual community service hours.

World Drums & Street Percussion

Brookside Soccer Camp

This is a fun and in-depth soccer camp taught by Brookside Soccer Staff!

In our camp your palate will explore the Spanish language along with its cuisine. Try our innovative concept pairing language and cooking. Card games can help improve a wide range of important skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, impulse control, following rules and directions, and communicating with others.
