Favourite Game Pats 3 Shels 2 (2001)
Favourite Player Eddie Gormley
The comeback which included a collectors item from Paul Marney (oh the irony!) was enough to see off Shels and a very upset Ollie Byrne. This game just beats the Elfsberg European tie in Richmond. Where to begin? The league win in 1990. His efforts to help save the club two years later. The sneaky grin at a Pat’s goal while sitting in the director's box or his visits to the Camac to 'encourage' the officials. The man is a true legend of the club.
First game At a guess, Pats vs Dundalk. I was brought to Richmond as a kid and remember, Inchicore local, Sean Byrne playing for Dundalk around 1979. At that time the teams would walk through the stand and I sat at the very back. Funnily enough I now sit very
Favourite kit HOME The big collared ‘Marcus Hallows’ jersey. My personal favourite as I have a framed signed jersey hanging proudly at home. The old blue crest as well. A proper jersey. AWAY Patselona 3rd strip. Just a fantasic jersey that inspired the Patselona banner which wound up, among others, our nomadic rivals currently from Tallaght. We also won the Cup final in this jersey.
close to that spot with my son Ben.
Favourite Goal Christy fagan Christy’s 2nd goal in the cup final just for the sheer relief. There have been better goals but my God very few have brought me to tears like that one did. Once it went in I let go of the prayer beads and was able to enjoy the last few minutes of the final. The team celebration of the goal including Clarkey, at our end, was fitting with the enormity of the moment.

The man, the legend, EDDIE ‘HAGI’ GORMLEY. A left foot more lethal than... something lethal. That goal in Buckley Park, possibly his scruffiest, was enough to immortalise the man. One of the few players given a standing ovation coming off at Richmond Park as an opposition player.
