Our team wanted the very best technical gear out on the water as they have when hunting. River or lake, inner harbour or deep blue – we wanted gear that performs, that lasts and protects. So we trawled the world over for the most advanced technical developments that would give our fishing community the edge on the water. It’s taken us four years of research and development, with a lot of secret testing over the past two sport fishing seasons to develop a performance-based range that meets the Stoney Creek standards.

This year, Our Backyard Trust, Stoney Creek and Tauranga Sport Fishing Club are combining forces to raise funds and a team of volunteers to be involved in our first ever Tauranga Harbour & Ocean Clean Up Project. With the goal of cleaning up our own backyard and removing loads of harmful rubbish from our marina, ocean and harbour ecosystem, the purpose of the project is to protect our waterways and marine life, and to further encourage other people and businesses to support the initiative and the on-going protection of our valuable natural resources.
The project will be funded by donations from key sponsors, local businesses and families, as well as receiving generous funding generated from the Jackpot being run at the 2022 Stoney Creek One Base Fishing Tournament in March.
Being based out of the Tauranga Sport Fishing Club, the event is planned for the 14-15th of May and we are looking to build teams of volunteers and supporters for the project who will be part of dedicated Clean Up Squads that will work across the Beaches, Harbour, Marina, Boat Ramps and Carparks across the general Tauranga Harbour area.
