Celebrating Volunteers
Volunteering is famous for skill development, socializing, having fun, and for making contacts for possible employment. Well, staff and volunteers at the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation definitely have fun. And, the Foundation often hires staff with volunteer experience – even its own volunteers. This year, we saw an increase in volunteers who participated in more than one role. We also saw the most growth in volunteers taking on more responsibility. We simply could not continue to support the kids at the hospital without the help of volunteers. They helped us at dozens of events, in the office, at our community events, answering phones, and being of great support whenever and wherever asked to contribute.
