Infinity

Saturday 14 May

Infinity Festival Infinity 2011 presents a fantastic day and night of entertainment based on and around the Tees near the iconic Infinity Bridge. Beginning at 9am, the Tees Regatta will see exciting races that all spectators can enjoy, including the inaugural Community Boat Challenge Final. In the evening, a stunning visual display will animate the Infinity Bridge. Visitors will be entertained by musicians and mobile fire and water structures. Fire Engine & Vintage Car Rally Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th June. 11am - 5pm Preston Park, Eaglescliffe Back in its ancestral home! The 2011 Fire Engine and Vintage Vehicle Rally is back in Preston Park and it’s bigger and better than ever. James Dylan's Stuntworld, the most experienced Stunt Team in Great Britain has something different for 2011.

Haurel and Lardy Jem Frazer (Ollie) and Graeme Hardy (Stan) are now considered by many to be the best Laurel and Hardy tribute act in the world.


Cycling Festival Come along to the Stockton Cycling Festival to get moving on two wheels! In collaboration with Velo29 Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th July Saturday 16 July sees the Sportive Challenge – a mass participation, non-competitive event in which participants of any standard can sign up to ride over one of three courses, choosing distances from 30 up to 100 miles. The following day, Sunday 17 July, will feature a series of ‘criterium’ races – competitive events for all ages and abilities on a closed road circuit around Stockton’s Riverside – as well as an elite race. There will be lots of opportunities to get on two wheels, or even one, on Sunday with interactive bike try-outs with Get Cycling, learn to unicycle, try-out BMX riding, take in the 8 Bridges Cycleway on a family friendly guided ride, and get your bike checked over by Dr Bike! There’ll be plenty of chance to get advice from Sustrans staff from The Hub on bike choice, what to wear, the routes available in Stockton, pedal your way to a fruit smoothie, and get stuck in on the virtual bike challenge.

The 24th Stockton International Riverside Festival promises to be the most entertaining so far, with magical performances from around the globe. A vibrant mix of music and dance, the spectacular community carnival and some weird and wonderful street theatre – all make SIRF one of the highlights of the North East event calendar. This year, SIRF showcases acts including Voala Project which takes a giant kaleidoscopic mobile suspended 100 feet above the ground, 13 daredevil aerial acrobats, live rock music and world-class pyrotechnics in “Muare” - celestial Flower Power for 2011. SIRF Community Carnival People’s Choice 6th August The theme for carnival 2011 is up to you! Stockton Community Carnival is a highlight of Stockton International Riverside Festival and brings together over a thousand local people in celebration. Take to the Tees Take to the Tees is back! 21st - 28th August 8 days of river based watersport activities, with taster sessions in everything from powerboats to canoes. The festival kicks off with the triathlon, and ends with the high profile, televised River Rat Race.
