SUGGESTED HIKES

1 MOUNT RIGI PANORAMA TRAIL

Mount Rigi’s longest hiking trail offers a wonderful 360-degree view of the Alpine scenery. Historic buildings as well as a tunnel and a viaduct serve as reminders of the historic Rigi-Scheidegg railway. The trail leads from Rigi Kaltbad to Rigi Scheidegg-Burggeist. Need a shortcut? Take the rockface trail between Rigi First and Unterstetten. 1 h 50 min. 7.1 km

2 TRAIL OF NATURAL WONDERS

This trail connecting Hinterbergen with Rigi Kaltbad offers breathtaking views across sheer rockfaces and plenty of nature’s charms. 2 h / 5.6 km

3 FLORAL TRAIL

On this trail, which leads from Rigi Kaltbad via Känzeli to Rigi Staffel and along the rockface trail, Rigi hikers will, as well as fantastic vistas, be treated to instructive close-ups of the local flora. 2 h / 7.3 km

4 RIGI SCHEIDEGG WILD ANIMALS TRAIL

How about going on a tracking expedition? Chances are, you cross paths with a fox, a badger, a squirrel or – even more likely – one of the many chamois that inhabit the area and occasionally venture as far down as the lakeshore. 20 min. / 600 m

5 ROSI’S ZWÄRGLIWEG TRAIL

This trail between Rigi Burggeist and Obergschwend is very popular with the “Zwärgli” (a.k.a. “kids”), because it runs past the Rigi Scheidegg and Rigi Burggeist restaurants – and their adjacent playgrounds! 1 h 30 min. 3.9 km

6 SEEBODENALP GLACIER TRAIL

Take a trip back to the Ice Age on Seebodenalp, learning from information boards in several locations about that frosty period on and around Mount Rigi and where its traces can still be found on Seebodenalp. 1 h 30 min. / 4.9 km

7 RIGI LEHNENWEG HIKE

This varied trail leads, high above Lake Lucerne, along Mount Rigi’s steep slopes, from Immensee/Küssnacht am Rigi via Greppen, Weggis, and Vitznau to Gersau. It can be extended by following the Waldstätterweg trail from Gersau to Brunnen. 7 h 30 min. / 22.3 km

8 VIA SILVA TRAIL

This forest nature trail along Mount Rigi’s northern slope provides many insights into the forest’s ecosystem, as well as surprising facts about the forest’s protective properties. 1 h 30 min. / 4.4 km

9 SCHWYZER HÖHENWEG TRAIL, SECTIONS 1 & 2

This Alpine trail begins at Küssnacht am Rigi’s historic town center, and then leads up to the Seebodenalp vista point, from where it becomes steep, leading through the forest up to Rigi Staffel. It ends in Goldau, after a descent past Klösterli along Mount Rigi’s northern slope. 7 h / 17.4 km

THIS AND THAT

CAMPFIRE SITE

Throughout the Mount Rigi area, many open and covered campfire sites are just waiting for you to ignite them. Firewood included.

Thank you for using the trash receptacles at the Rigi Bahnen stations!

VISTA POINT

Mount Rigi offers views of a literal ocean of 620 Alpine peaks as well as no fewer than 13 lakes. Add to that glorious sunsets and – weather permitting – the imposing sea of fog below.

PLAYGROUND

At Rigi Kaltbad, Rigi Scheidegg and Rigi Burggeist as well as down in the valleys, physically active kids will have loads of fun. And your family outing will be a runaway success.

MINIATURE GOLF AND AERIAL ADVENTURE PARK

Looking for small and big challenges? You will find them at several miniature golf facilities on and around Mount Rigi and at the Rigi aerial adventure park above Küssnacht am Rigi. Now who has the tee-off skills and the power? And who has the “guts” for a wild cable ride?

RIGI KALTBAD MINERAL BATH & SPA AND ALPINE WELLNESS

Time to relax at Rigi Kaltbad Mineral Bath & Spa – with a splendid view, both inside and in the open air. Alp Chäserenholz, meanwhile, is devoted to offering you Alpine wellness far from the daily grind.

COACH RIDES

Enjoy a nice and slow, large or small horse-drawn tour through the gorgeous Mount Rigi scenery.

RIGI SOUVENIRS AND REGIONAL PRODUCTS

A comprehensive range of souvenirs, regional products as well as beverages and snacks is available at Rigi Kaltbad, Rigi Kulm, the Rigi Scheidegg Kiosk and the Vitznau and Goldau valley stations. For your sporting goods needs, visit the Sport-Kiosk Rigi Kaltbad. And for everyday products, groceries, fresh produce and postal services we recommend the Dorfladen Rigi Kaltbad.

ALPINE CHEESE DAIRY

Taste heavenly cheese made from the finest Alpine milk at the Alp Chäserenholz and Alp Trib cheese dairies.

A VISIT TO THE CAVE DWELLERS

A long time ago, the Höhle Steigelfadbalm cave provided shelter for both Neanderthal men and, perhaps unfortunately, cave bears.
