Tanya Olhausen enjoyed a belated celebration of her birthday on 21st October kindly organised and hosted by

Maria Waters. It was a lovely gathering of women parishioners of St Matthias’, some of whom only got to know of each other for the first time. Everyone brought something for the table and bar. It was a fun evening.

Notes. Unfortunately, due to the fact that many people had other commitments or were on holidays, our outing to the Casino in Marino had to be cancelled. Never mind, as there appears to be great interest in it we will re-schedule it for next Spring. On 26th October a group set off from the church to visit Leighlinbridge for a very nice lunch and a spot of retail therapy! A great time was had by all and many thanks to the drivers involved. On 28th November we plan to visit the Pavilion Theatre for St Patrick's Dramatic Society's production of Same Old Moon. This is St Patrick's 50th Anniversary, which is a wonderful achievement and we send them our congratulations. Based in Dalkey, various members of this parish have taken part from time to time. Preceding this there is an Early Bird meal in Alexis Restaurant on Patrick Street in Dun Laoghaire. I trust by now you have all made your bookings if you wish to come to either or both of these venues - if you haven't do CONTACT JEAN IMMEDIATELY (087 668 4472)! Last but not least, don't forget our Christmas Lunch in the Glenview Hotel on 7th December. Put the date in your diary NOW - this is always a very enjoyable affair - and even if you have not been before you will be very welcome. CONTACT TERRY (01 285 8461) for details. 11
