Dan Phillips will take to the sidelines for his 13th coaching season; his 7th at the helm of the St. John’s men’s lacrosse team. His return to the St. John’s program in 2007 proved prosperous for the Cadets. In his six seasons as Head Coach, Phillips has guided St. John’s back to the WCAC play-offs with six consecutive play-off births. With a career record of 8466, every one of his Cadets squads has finished with a winning record. Last year, the Cadets sent four players on to play at the collegiate level. Phillips has the program on track and ready to make some noise in High School lacrosse this season. With a focus on the defensive unit and goalies, St. John’s continues to improve and has been able to recruit some of the best young talent in the area. As a student-athlete at St. John’s from 1991-1994, Phillips was a two-time All-Conference attackman. He returned to the sport in 2000; when he began his coaching career at his alma mater as the St. John’s Head Junior Varsity Coach, and went on to serve as an Assistant Varsity Coach during the 2001 to 2003 seasons. With his help, the Cadets advanced to the WCAC Championship game in 2002. Phillips is a true representation of the program’s past success and its future expectations. Coach Phillips teaches Physical Education at St. John’s and currently resides in Kensington, MD with his wife, Paula, son, Daniel, Jr. and daughter Darcy.

Matt Marriott VARSITY ASSISTANT Coach Marriott, a native of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is entering his second season with the Cadets as assistant coach. He played soccer, wrestling and lacrosse for St James School in Hagerstown, before graduating with a BA in History from Furman University, where he played for and helped run the men’s club lacrosse program. Prior to joining the Cadets, coach was a financial advisor for RBC Wealth Management and Sports International Group, Incorporated. He and his wife, Alison, live on Capitol Hill.
