ISD 15 Mission

Lifelong learning enriches individuals and creates opportunities. That is one of the core values from the Independent School District 15 Strategic Plan that provides the framework for how the district develops programs and services. Make Community Education Department a primary avenue to access those lifelong learning opportunities.

Our mission is to equip all students with the knowledge and skills to empower them to achieve their dreams and full potential while becoming responsible citizens in a dynamic world.

With the start of a new year, this is a perfect time to reawaken that yearning to try something new, polish up an old skill or learn a new one, spend a few hours with someone special or make new life choices. Look through the pages of this catalog and you are sure to find something that will satisfy that yearning.

ISD 15 Core Values We believe that… • Trust and respect are fundamental for thriving relationships.

Community Education offers programs and services in the areas of Youth Enrichment, Drivers Training, Adult Enrichment, Youth Recreation, Before and After School Childcare, Just 4 Kids childcare for preschoolers, Adult Basic Education, Early Childhood Family Education, Preschool Place 15 and Communications. Many classes and events for Adult Enrichment and Youth Enrichment are listed on the following pages; classes and events for Youth Recreation, Early Childhood Family Education, Preschool Place 15 and Adult Basic Education can be found in separate catalogs, in the Courier or through flyers distributed in backpacks and folders. You can also check out all Community Education classes and events online at www.isd15.org.

• Our community flourishes when individuals, families and organizations collaborate.

Go ahead-give yourself permission to try something new or recharge by doing something you like. And if you find, that you are a learner who is ready to become a teacher, consider sharing your talents and passion by conducting a community education class, volunteering to coach a youth recreation offering, or applying to be an assistant in Kids Connection or Early Childhood. Give a coordinator a call to get more information.

• Lifelong learning enriches individuals and creates opportunities.

• Every person matters and has value. • Responsibility and accountability are essential for personal growth, organizational improvement and community engagement. • Commitment to high expectations is essential to help achieve full individual and collective potential. • Everyone benefits when culture and diversity are understood and respected.

• Open exchanges of ideas and communicated planning are integral for continuous improvement.

Make 2016 your year to do it—Community Education can help!
