Once you have bought your Boardmasters ticket, there’s no need to worry about a pitch, but a little planning beforehand can go a long way. Whilst you won’t be far away from civilisation (there is a 10-minute shuttle bus running every two hours to Newquay town), it is still handy to prep yourself to ensure a smooth camping experience at the festival. It’s important for us at Boardmasters Festival that you leave no trace; whatever you decide to bring, it should go back home with you or be

disposed of appropriately. BY LEONORA ELLIS What to store inside your tent: Roll mat Sleeping bag Pillow Toilet roll Snacks Small first aid kit Everyone forgets: ID Headtorch Painkillers Portable charger Dry shampoo Towel

Perfect for Boardmasters: Yoga mat Swimsuit Raincoat & sun cream Reusable water bottle Keep cup

When you are zigzagging your way back at the end of the night, light your way by keeping some fairy lights or a torch inside your tent

Or if you’re feeling free, just take yourself and the clothes on your back. You choose how to camp; it can be as stripped back or as glamped up as you wish. Camping can be about bringing everyone together, there’s nothing better than sharing a pitch with your best friends at Boardmasters Festival. Wake up to your favourite faces and end the night with them, maybe find some new friends along the way.

Here are your camping options at Boardmasters Festival:

Family Campsite – Dedicated to you and your folk, the family campsite is a safe space for your little ones, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the main area. Oxfam stewards will be on hand around this campsite. Boardmasters Boutique CampingDone your fair share of stripped back, wild camping? Woken up one too many times to a puddle of water at your feet? Forgotten that all important last tent peg? It’s time to add a layer of lavishness to festival living in a choice of Tipis, Bedouins and Bell Tents. Home to an uber exclusive bar, food vendors, and chill out spaces; you can lounge in luxury. Accessible Campsite – Dedicated to deaf and disabled festival goers, it is our closest campsite to the main area. This campsite offers on-hand stewards to help 24/7, charging facilities for medical equipment and wheelchairs, its very own carpark, and designated entrance into the campsite (look out for the blue gate). VIP Campsite – Want to feel like you are in the comfort of your own home? Simply there for the fresh new music? Or is it just time to treat yourself – when is it not? Budget friendly options - Jaws & Boilers lies in the thick of it and is situated next to the main festival site. Mavericks won’t suit you party people, laid back vibes only here. Lakeys, Waimea, Cribbar, Pipeline, Waikiki & Malibu are for those who equally like to dance the night away and catch up on some zzz’s the day after. Greenfield Eco Campsite – This is a first come first serve campsite, dedicated to eco warriors who want to support the festival’s pledge to sustainability and making greener options. Be a part of something bigger by taking part in daily beach cleans, saying no to single use plastic, and helping our team shape sustainability plans. The Eco Campsite is hosted by Camplight who provide pre-pitched tents. ‘Travel green, reuse a tent, save money, lighten your load’.

OUR ECO PLEDGE:

“I will take my tent home at the end of the festival. I will limit my impact on the environment by car-sharing or taking public transport to the festival. I will use a reusable water bottle and a reusable cup at the bars. I will take responsibility for any waste I produce. I will leave no trace. I will recycle what I can and take the rest of my rubbish to the litter bond exchange. I will respect other eco campers. I will have fun, dance, surf and explore the festival whilst being conscious of the beautiful Cornish surroundings.”

Whichever Boardmasters experience you choose, every campsite provides toilets, drinking water, waste points, and info & security points. Avoid bringing your whole life with you, keep to the essentials.
