Introduction Sterling Catering Services is an affiliate of the Sterling Group of Companies. The Sterling Group of Companies has been in business in Qatar for the past 32 years. SGOC has various business interests throughout the GCC, India and the USA. Sterling Catering Services was founded by present CEO, Mr. John Mathew K. SGOC has been in the Food & Beverage business since its inception under the Tristar Group W.L.L. / Sterling Cafeteria. Sterling Catering Services is the single largest operator of high quality restaurants and catering operations in Qatar. Sterling Catering Services is comprised of Sterling Restaurants, Sterling Franchised Restaurants, Sterling Institutional Catering, Sterling Outdoor Catering, Sterling Event Catering, Sterling Project Catering and Sterling Distribution Services. Because of our experience, we understand the requirements for all aspects in working with the Ministry and have developed the needed partnerships to negotiate government requirements to operate effectively and efficiently. SGOC is always evolving, changing, modifying and adapting to our environment and to our business needs as well.

The Sterling Group of Companies has its own centralized warehouse and kitchen facilities, . transport fleet, human resources, accounting, construction and maintenance teams. Sterling Catering Services is also supported by other divisions of the Sterling Group of Companies in Qatar, as well as the region, to ensure maximum efficiency and output. Other Companies and Departments of SGOC include Construction, Retail, Textile, Hotels, Private Label, Sound & Light, Entertainment, Studios, Marketing, Graphic Design, IT, Equipment, Bakery and Confectionaries.

All of our food handlers are certified as per the Municipality Laws before they work in our kitchens or serve our guests. Training forms the basis for achieving quality operations in any establishment. All of our staff have training in service, food and recipe preparation, food safety, cleanliness, proper dress code and personal hygiene. Training is a constant part of the daily routine at all of our Sterling Restaurants.

Service Resources In order to attain high standards, we create an environment that harbors a passion and understanding for hygienically prepared food in a sanitized setting. In an industry which is so labor intensive, it is a challenge, but over the years we have developed and trained managers who are capable of leading people and manage our systems. This has been achieved through constant training of our staff to develop a “zero defect” mentality, versus “close enough”. This attention and commitment to detail is reflected in all areas of our operations.

Purchasing Resources Our business is to serve great food to our guests at all times. We as a company believe that the measure of success of any food establishment is â&#x20AC;&#x153;qualityâ&#x20AC;?. We believe that food quality begins with the proper ordering of food supplies. We have a strong purchase team who, over the years, developed vendors who share the same vision we do. Ordering quality product and equipment is a business mentality and we take it very seriously. The company has very large warehouses for both cold and dry storage. The central store distributes stock to all the different outlets. The warehouse has enough stock to last 3 months of full operation. 80% of all the raw materials is imported by us to maintain consistent quality and remaining product is sourced locally from reputable suppliers.

Purchasing Resources Because of our huge purchasing power, we work directly with such vendors as Tyson Foods, PPCS, Festino, Lamb Weston, Cargill, Allegro, McCain, Mrs. Fields, Heinz, Carl Khune and many others. These relationships have allowed us to have better consistency and greater quality of products. All deliveries are checked for quality and rotated using the â&#x20AC;&#x153;FIFOâ&#x20AC;? method. In the same way, we deal directly with such equipment vendors as Bunn, Henny Penny, ISA, Taylor, Manitowac, Churchill, Desmon, Hobart, Hatco, Nuova Simonelli and Pintinox.

Our IT and maintenance teams work 24/7 to insure the least amount of inconvenience to our guests.
