The Mob Doctor, The Beast, Gifted Hands: the Ben Carson Story, Karen Sisco, Alias, Early Edition, The Unit, The Evidence, Numb3rs, E-Ring and others. Yasen’s translation of Chekhov’s Ivanov, produced by European Repertory Company, was published by Ivan R. Dee. He is a proud recipient of a Joseph Jefferson Award, Fox Fellowship Award and the Head of the Theatre Department in the School of Theatre and Music at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Edgar Miguel Sanchez (Ensemble)

is thrilled to be making his first appearance at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Chicago credits include Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night (Chicago Shakespeare Theater); This Is Our Youth (Sankofa Theatre Company); Fever Chart (Eclipse Theatre Company); Brothers Of The Dust (Congo Square Theatre Company); Sinbad: The Untold Story (Adventure Stage Chicago); 1001 (Collaboraction); Red Noses (Strawdog Theatre Company); Welcome To Arroyo’s (American Theater Company); and Wilson Wants It All (The House Theatre of Chicago). Regional credits include Hamlet (GableStage); Twelfth Night, Richard III, Troilus and Cressida, The Admirable Crichton (American Players Theatre); Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello and Comedy of Errors (Oregon Shakespeare Festival). Edgar is a founding member of Sankofa Theatre Company in 2012, was born in Dominican Republic, raised in Miami, Florida and holds a BFA in acting from The Theater School at DePaul University.

Scott Stangland (Colline, Pierre)

is happy to return to Steppenwolf Theatre Company where he was last seen as an orderly in Tracy Letts’s Man From Nebraska. Most recently, Scott performed in A Christmas Carol (Goodman Theatre); as well as the world premiere production of Eastland: A New Musical (Lookingglass Theatre Company), playing piano in the band and several roles onstage. Other Chicago credits include work with Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company and Writers’ Theatre. Regional credits include work with Michigan Shakespeare Festival and Colorado Shakespeare Festival. Film credits include Contagion and Men of Honor. Television credits include Gifted Hands: the Ben Carson Story and Chicago Fire. Scott also plays in the band Youth in a Roman Field. He received his MFA in acting from The Theatre Conservatory at Roosevelt University.

Demetrios Troy (Tomas, Xuan)

is making his Steppenwolf Theatre Company debut. His Chicago credits include Blood and Gifts (TimeLine Theatre Company); The Happiest Song Plays Last, A Christmas Carol, The Seagull, The Good Negro and numerous readings, including 2666 (Goodman Theatre); Beyond the Score: Beethoven with Simon Callow, Beyond the Score: Schoenberg, Welcome Yule!, Igor Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale with John Lithgow (Chicago Symphony Orchestra); Awake and Sing! Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet, Timon of Athens with Ian McDiarmid and Henry V in the upcoming 2013/14 season (Chicago Shakespeare Theater). Regional credits include The Boys Next Door (Syracuse Stage); Julius Caesar (Utah Shakespeare Festival); Tartuffe, King Lear (Milwaukee Repertory Theater); The Merry Wives of Windsor and King Lear (Riverside Theatre). He holds a BA from the Barat College of DePaul University and a MFA from the University of South Carolina.

Matthew Yee (Ensemble)

is overjoyed to be making his professional debut at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. A recent graduate of Northern Illinois University, he holds a BFA in acting.

Zinnie Harris (Playwright)

is a playwright, screenwriter and theater director. Her plays include The Message, On the Watch (Tricycle Theatre, as part of The Bomb Season, 2012); The Wheel (National Theatre of Scotland, 2011; winner of a Fringe First Award, joint winner of 2012 Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Theatre Award and short-listed for Susan Smith Blackburn Award); The Panel (Tricycle Theatre, London 2010); The Garden (Traverse Theatre, 2009); Fall (Traverse Theatre, 2008) Solstice (RSC, 2005); Midwinter (Royal Shakespeare Company, 2004); Nightingale and Chase (Royal Court, 2001); Further Than the Furthest Thing (Royal National Theatre/Tron Theatre, 2000/01; winner of

the Peggy Ramsay Playwriting Award and John Whiting Award); and By Many Wounds (Hampstead Theatre). Adaptations include A Doll’s House (Donmar Warehouse, 2009) and Miss Julie (National Theatre of Scotland, 2006). Zinnie also writes for television and radio, including two 90-minute dramas for Channel 4: Born with Two Mothers and Richard is My Boyfriend; and episodes for the BBC One Drama Series, Spooks. Zinnie is under commission to the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre and is an Associate Artist at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh. Her plays are published by Faber and Faber, and many are now performed in translation around the world. Zinnie is currently writing Tommy and Tuppence based on the Agatha Christie series for David Walliams/BBC One and an original series also for BBC One.

Tina Landau (Director)

an ensemble member since 1997, has directed Steppenwolf Theatre Company productions of Head of Passes, The Hot L Baltimore, The Brother/Sister Plays, Superior Donuts (also Broadway), The Tempest, Diary of Anne Frank, Cherry Orchard, Time of Your Life (also Seattle Repertory Theatre, ACT Theatre), Theatrical Essays, Berlin Circle, Ballad of Little Jo, Time to Burn and her own play, Space (also Mark Taper Forum, Public Theater).
