A big crowd filled the sale arena for the start of the 2019 Ohio Beef Expo Shorthorn sale. The consignors to this leading Shorthorn Expo sale presented a high quality group of bulls and females for the buyers to select from. The bidding was fast and furious on this group and the result was an excellent sale. Congratulations to all involved with this leading event. $6,750 - Lot 3 - Bull - Byland Premier 8SC24. A red, polled, February 16, 2018 42

son of Studer’s Snapchat 22B and out of Byland Cheerful 5M5. Each year the Byland program brings outstanding herd sire prospects to this sale and this one fits that mold. Thick and stout, this one has the look of a top sire in the future. Offered by Byland Polled Shorthorns and purchased by James Angus of Bellvue, Mich. $5,900 - Lot 7 - Bred Heifer - UTCC Molly. A roan, polled, May 2017 daughter of CF Legit and out of MH Binnie 8032 XC selling bred to Hot Commodity for a May 2019 calf. This one was an attention getter. Long sided with the thickness and style that all like to see. She had quite a crowd around her prior to the sale. She will make a great herd matron. A black, polled, April 23, 2018 daughter of SFF Booster and out of SFF 71. Talk about fancy. This stout show prospect has all the style and dimension to make her one to look for in the coming show

A rwm, polled, April 12, 2018 daughter of SULL Red Value 5011 ET and out of SULL Sable Rose 2241 ET. This one is top show quality. Thick made with the bone and muscle to make her not only a top show heifer but also one to produce those thick made show prospects in the future. Offered by C&S Hetrick Show Cattle and purchased by Phil Lautner and Korky Wise of Adel, Iowa. $3,800 - Lot 16 - Open Heifer BSC Augusta Pride 5268 ET. A roan, horned, May 26, 2018 daughter of HD Bloodstone 603 ET and out of M&L Augusta Pride 9112 ET. This top prospect was thought by some to be the sleeper in this sale.
