Shorthorn Pen Show Honoree Stepping Stone Ranch - Ron & Shirley Busse Stepping Stone Ranch is owned by Ron and Shirley Busse. They live in Northwest Kansas, 20 miles from the Colorado border and 30 miles from the Nebraska border. Their love for Shorthorn cattle began at an early age by showing Shorthorn steers at the county fair. Their fire for the breed rekindled back in the 1980s with the purchase of a heifer from the Kansas Shorthorn Futurity sale. And as you might say, the rest is history. They have been showing in the Pen Show for 25 years, starting out with pens of bulls. They were excited when the pen show allowed heifers and the ShorthornPlus side of the breed. They have been blessed to see many purple banners flying next to their name over the past years. Ron and Shirley want to thank the Shorthorn Association for this great honor. They also want to thank their many friends who have helped them over the past years. Without their help, this award would not have come their way!
