AQUINAS COLLEGE

WELCOME to one of the most unique higher education experiences in the United States. With fewer than 500 students, we’re more than a respected academic institution – we’re a close-knit family, built on a strong Catholic foundation right in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. This is a place where your name will be remembered, your voice will be heard and your presence will be valued.

Sister Mary Sarah, O.P. President

OUR HISTORY, OUR ACADEMIC APPROACH AND OUR CAMPUS culture are rooted in the Catholic faith. This means a whole-person approach to education will help you question, challenge and understand the world in a bigger, bolder way. If you are Catholic, you will have daily opportunities to immerse yourself in the sacramental life. And if you’re not, you will experience a faith-filled campus that’s deeply committed to helping you grow and thrive.

WHY CHOOSE A CATHOLIC EDUCATION AT AQUINAS? LEARN BEYOND THE CLASSROOM. Our education’s wholeperson approach prepares you for more than a career – it prepares you to thrive in all areas of life, to think clearly, to form lasting friendships and to respect yourself and others. FIND PURPOSE. As a Catholic college, we’re committed to the true sense of the word “Catholic,” which means “universal.” Spend your college career gaining an understanding of how your work contributes to global society, so you can learn how to effect positive change and be a blessing to the world. GROW IN FAITH. You will grow spiritually at Aquinas through the core curriculum and in your daily encounter with fellow students. You’ll have daily access to the Sacraments, Eucharistic Adoration, theology classes and prayer opportunities. You will be challenged to grow deeper in your faith. GRADUATE WITH OUR REPUTATION. Aquinas is known for producing well-rounded, well-trained graduates. Our reputation is recognized and respected as you apply to graduate programs, professional schools and employment opportunities. GET PERSONALIZED AT TENTION. Our small class sizes and commitment to students help us know you – your strengths, challenges and talents – to fully support you throughout your formation at Aquinas. BE ACCEPTED. Aquinas accepts peoples of all faiths into a tightknit community that respects one another. If you choose to be involved in House Life, campus ministry, leadership or service, you'll find plenty of opportunities to grow in self-knowledge and strengthen your relationship with God and others.

AQUINAS IS Owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of the St. Cecilia Congregation, who play an important part in campus life as faculty, advisers, mentors and classmates. Listed among only 20 other colleges in the Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College. Committed to our students’ intellectual and spiritual growth, with daily Mass held on campus along with many other spiritual opportunities, such as Eucharistic Adoration in our Corpus Christi Perpetual Adoration Chapel. Steadfastly Catholic, committed to the principles set forth in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, with all theology faculty receiving the mandatum.

A HOUSE TO CALL HOME. Every member of our community – students, faculty and staff – is assigned to one of eight “houses” that meet for a weekly meal, host speakers and compete with other houses in athletic and community service competitions. Our House Life program creates strong community bonds and connections that last a lifetime.

WANT TO LIVE ON CAMPUS? Welcome home. Aquinas offers an easy walk to shopping, dining, public transportation and more, plus a gorgeous city-wide greenway trail running right through our backyard. While our location is convenient for commuters, many students prefer the housing and dining options available on campus. Residential living and learning together at Aquinas is an opportunity to make lifelong friends, participate fully in our close-knit community and grow in faith.

Our campus is growing! Construction is under way for a new dining hall and women's residence hall set to open in time for the 2016-2017 academic year.
