Bennie’s Bread & Italian Market remains one of OC's favorite go-to places. With a wide but focused selection of Italian specialty items and their unmatched bread choices, they continue to pack 'em in all day long. This is a true Italian market similar to what you’d find in Philadelphia or New York. Located on the corner of 12th and Asbury, Bennie’s is filled with a thoughtful array of delicious and authentic flavors. The menu is expansive (and delicious), but this is not a sit-down restaurant (there’s no waitress service, but there are several tables where you can eat on site). Whether you take the eggplant or chicken cutlets home or eat your wood-fired pizza with prosciutto there, it will likely be some of the best Italian food you’ve tasted. Bennie’s menu includes daily focaccias, stuffed breads, tomato pie, sandwiches, soups, salads, meatballs, fresh olive oils, and more. They cater too, so this Night in Venice order up a tray of eggplant parm, lasagna, and sandwiches.
