Predicted Views Zone of Theoretical Visibility (ZTV)
We have agreed a range of viewpoints with The Highland Council and NatureScot to ensure the most suitable locations are selected to illustrate the visibility of the wind farm. Since our first exhibition, additional viewpoints have been added following consultation with local residents, Community Councils and other stakeholders. These have helped to inform our decisions on siting turbines.
Seven visualisations have been provided to demonstrate how the proposed wind farm would look at its proposed size of nine turbines with a mixture of turbines at a maximum of 180m or 200m to blade tip.
All illustrations have been created to comply with NatureScot guidance on the visual representation of wind farms. Illustrations of all agreed viewpoints will be available as part of our application submission later in 2024.
The ZTV illustrates the theoretical visibility of the Proposed Development, based on what is referred to as a “bare earth” model. It does not include the screening effect of ground cover features, such as woodland, vegetation and buildings, which can reduce the extent of actual visibility of wind turbines from some locations.
