Melinda Armstrong (O’Hare)

’95-’98, Oak Grove Associate of Applied Science degree. Melinda is a Special Education Teacher at the Pleasant Hill School District.

Melissa Bedwell

’12-’15, Clinton Associate of Arts, LPN Certificate, ADB Melissa has been with the Clinton School District as a nursing instructor since 2018 and will graduate with her Master of Science in nursing education in 2020. Her oldest daughter will graduate from high school this May and then join the program as a nursing student.

Emily Bergsieker

’02, Higginsville Associate of Arts in Business Administration. After SFCC, Emily worked at University of Central Missouri while earning a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in College Student Personnel. Emily is now a University of Missouri Extension Field Specialist for 4-H Youth Development in Lafayette and Ray counties.

Tom Deuschle

’78, Jefferson City Business Tom retired as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor, Employment and Training Administration in 2019 and was a Senior Policy Advisor to Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta.

Christian Dorr

'12-'15, Liberty, MO Associate of Arts Christian received his Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Liberty University and a Master’s degree in Professional Writing. He is starting a prison ministry program with his wife of ten years.

Dr. Josie Doss

’99, Warner Robins, Georgia, Nursing Dr. Doss earned her PhD in Nursing from Georgia State University in 2017 and was promoted to Associate Professor of Nursing at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville Georgia. In 2018, Dr. Doss was awarded an $803,000 federal grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to train and certify Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners.

Alyssa Henry

’14, Fayetteville, Arkansas Associate of Arts Alyssa is a Marketing Assistant for United Built Homes and was a member of Phi Beta Lambda.

Patricia Kinkead (Pickens)

’78, ’91, ’02-’03, Warsaw Health Sciences, Nursing Patricia is currently practicing as a Family Nurse Practioner and has attended SFCC multiple times to earn additional credentials that has led to a successful career in the medical field. Patricia commented, "Having come from a low income family, I am extremely thankful for SFCC's nurturing guidance in my career path and preparing me for the best time of my life."

Sharon Ramsey (Capps)

’99, Overland Park, Kansas, Associate of Applied Science in Business Sharon is the Director of Development for the Kansas City Kansas Community College Foundation. Sharon recently earned her MBA from the University of Saint Mary with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Health. In October, she married Joe Ramsey.

Russell Peters

’02, Linn Associate of Applied Science Russell is a database administrator for Central Technology Services and has been with the company for more than 19 years.

Samantha Strodtman

'14, Ballard Associate of Arts in Agriculture Samantha completed her Ag Education degree at Northwest Missouri State University and is currently the Ag teacher at Ballard High School. She received the Teachers Turn the Key Award at the National Association of Agriculture Educator’s (NAAE) Conference in Anaheim, California, in December 2019.

Martha Tuggle (Sievers)

’70, Sedalia Associate of Applied Science in Management Martha retired in 2007 from JC Penney after 34 years of service.

Jeffery White

’97-’00, Tulsa, Oklahoma Programming Jeffery was the SGA President at SFCC 1999-2000 and now works for Tulsa County.

We remember

Kent Harbit – Feb. 10, 1956 – July 23, 2020 Kent worked 34 years as head maintenance technician at SFCC and was a member of the SFCC Foundation Board of Directors. Cindy Henke – Sept. 27, 1946 – Oct. 13, 2019 Cindy coordinated the RN program for 27 years. Upon her retirement, the Spirit of Nursing award was established in her honor and is awarded annually to a deserving nursing student. Joe McBride – Oct. 28, 1952 – Nov. 9, 2019 Joe was an automotive instructor from 1974 to 1978. He was the father of Kimberley Miller who teaches math and serves as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Division Chair at SFCC. Charles Patterson III – Feb. 27, 1944 – April 4, 2020 Charles was a math instructor for four years. Kip Salmon – Oct. 25, 1940 – March 26, 2020 Kip served on SFCC’s Board of Trustees for several years. He was an avid supporter of the SFCC Foundation and Athletics.
