Family-friendly GP clinic W

yndham Village Medical Centre is like a snapshot of cultural diversity. About 17 languages are spoken at the clinic, making it comfortable for all members of the community, according to practice manager Kerryn Woodham. “It’s extraordinary, really, that among our many doctors and other staff, so many languages can be used to make patients from so many cultures feel comfortable and very welcome,” Kerryn says.

health assessments and immunisations are carried out, and there’s an on-site pathology clinic. “Along with providing exceptional service, we are a family-friendly clinic that caters for all age groups, from babies to the elderly,” Kerryn says. “When we began, we knew the community needed more GPs and we delivered. At the clinic we encourage patients to make appointments with their

regular doctor for continuity of care, however patients are more than welcome to come without an appointment and wait for a doctor when they need to. “We try to help the community and recognise that sometimes we cannot offer an appointment when needed. Walk-in flexibility is a must and the community’s healthcare is our number one priority so we try to have a number of nurses and doctors working at the clinic to ensure patients are

not left waiting for hours on end. “We do encourage, when possible, that you attend with an appointment to minimise waiting time.” A bulk-billing service is offered to all Medicare card holders.
