Describe your farm and what your role there has been: I grew up next to my grandparents’ dairy farm. I often helped unhook the cows, feed calves, and pick rock for many hours in the summer. In 2019, my grandparents retired and sold their cows. After talking to Gene and Shelly Gatewood, they were willing the sponsor me this year. While at the Gatewood’s I have learned how they feed and take care of their animals. I have enjoyed being able to work around their animals and I’m excited to see what this year has in store.

Why did you decide to run for dairy princess? I am looking forward to spreading the dairy industry and my love for dairy cattle as a princess of Kandiyohi County. I am also looking forward to being a role model for junior dairy princesses and everyone else. Being a dairy princess to me means helping and growing the dairy industry and teaching people what the dairy industry is about. It also means teaching young kids about the dairy industry, meeting new farmers, talking to a group of people about what I know about the industry.

Describe your farm and what your role there has been: I have been on the farm since I was three days old. My mom would take me out to the barn in my car seat, and I would sleep while my parents would milk. My dad also works for Carlson Dairy. He has worked for them for longer than I can remember, he is their right-hand man. I have been lucky enough that over the years Carlson’s would let me select and show their cattle for 4-H and FFA. When you couldn’t find me inside you would be able to find me out in the barns with my dad. Established in 1975
